Requirements to become a foster parent
Utah families receive monthly foster care payments to help offset the costs of raising a child. This stipend is meant for room and board, clothing, and related expenses.
The amount you receive varies based on a child's age and needs. Children that require more attention and care have slightly higher rates.
Foster youth have their medical and dental needs covered through Medicaid. This insurance should be enough for any doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dental exams, etc. Foster children also qualify for free school lunches.
Utah parents can take advantage of mentorship programs that allow them to learn from more experienced foster families. It's an excellent way to connect with others and build a support network. Plus, you'll have someone else to turn to if you have questions.
Utah Kids Belong has an app that gives foster parents access to special discounts from foster-friendly businesses. It's also an easy way to connect with faith-based communities, which may offer other types of support.

I was about 6 months pregnant when I decided to choose adoption. The father of my child wanted nothing to do with her and I wanted her to have a mom and a dad a happy family and that exactly what I found.
Don't ever think you child is going to hate you for what you did because what you're doing is a true blessing and putting your own selfish need before your own and giving the baby what he or she really needs. I glad I chose the family I did they are simply perfect and when the mom picked her up I could see it in her eyes and her husbands eyes that was their little girl and I know she'll get everything I couldn't have gave her. If you're stuck in a spot like I was reach out to heart to heart adoptions and I promise you they'll help you get threw what you may think is the worse of the worse. Thank you so much for taking time to read my story.

My husband & I highly recommend Heart To Heart Adoptions. We had such a positive experience. We placed our application with the agency in January of 2017. We were matched with an expectant mother in March. Our social worker helped us to feel comfortable with our initial telephone conversation with the birth mother, as we were both nervous and excited to speak to her. The social workers at the agency were easily available and quite responsive with answering our questions. When we arrived in Utah, we were well informed through the entire adoption process. We could tell that the staff, case managers, and social workers were clearly dedicated on providing emotional and physical support to the birth mother and her young children. In our opinion, these attributes are very important in an agency. We are over the moon happy with the addition of our beautiful and sweet little daughter to our family. Our family was created by our daughter's amazing birth mother who made an adoption plan based on love and the kind and insightful staff at the Heart to Heart Adoption Agency who still guide us on this adoption journey.

We love Heart to Heart. They are a great company to work with. We have been pleased with the two adoptions we have had through them. I love the support they’ve given our birth moms during and after placement. We highly recommend them to anyone looking to adopt.

We are so grateful for our journey, even now as it continues well past the official adoption date. We are grateful most importantly to the Lord and for the many people who have been a part of our journey. We are also grateful for Heart to Heart and the guidance and knowledge they provided. We have so much to be thankful for.

We adopted all four of our children through Heart to Heart. The adoption process is definitely a roller coaster but we always felt like the agency was there to help us manage the process. Many of the people we worked with at Heart to Heart feel like old friends and not just an agency. As an adoptive parent, I want an agency that makes sure that the birth family is their top priority and from what I have seen and been told by our kids birth families, I believe Heart to Heart does this.
We are so blessed to have open adoptions with our children's birth parents who we consider part of our family and we are so grateful that Heart to Heart brought us together.
