Requirements to become a foster parent
Utah families receive monthly foster care payments to help offset the costs of raising a child. This stipend is meant for room and board, clothing, and related expenses.
The amount you receive varies based on a child's age and needs. Children that require more attention and care have slightly higher rates.
Foster youth have their medical and dental needs covered through Medicaid. This insurance should be enough for any doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dental exams, etc. Foster children also qualify for free school lunches.
Utah parents can take advantage of mentorship programs that allow them to learn from more experienced foster families. It's an excellent way to connect with others and build a support network. Plus, you'll have someone else to turn to if you have questions.
Utah Kids Belong has an app that gives foster parents access to special discounts from foster-friendly businesses. It's also an easy way to connect with faith-based communities, which may offer other types of support.

My nephew was put up illegally without my sisters consent. When we found out we contacted the agency with all our paperwork emails and phone call still remain unanswered. Avoid at all cost.

Heart to Heart are wonderful to work with. All of the staff were so kind to us and helped us every step of the way. We are so thankful to have had the chance to meet them and we had an amazing adoption experience. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Great people to work with. They are constantly in a hard spot. Just by the nature of their business. But they move with so must skill. I am impressed.
Of all the businesses to be in, helping innocent babies have a better life is honorable and worth while. Helping mothers who are in a very tough stop is equally honorable. And helping family fill a dream of a child in there home is just as honorable.
The navigating of these difficult and hard realities and decisions is amazing to watch. You ladies have won me over. God bless you all and all who work with you.

We worked with Heart to Heart for the adoption of our second son. They were great to work with, especially through a unique adoption with a preemie and across multiple states.

Heart to Heart treated us like family throughout the adoption process. Our social workers were Linda and Bonnie and they are both very dear to us after guiding us through the ups and downs of the adoption process. We adopted our daughter in 2016 and she brings us joy every day. We keep her wonderful birth family in our thoughts always. We recommend Heart to Heart to any of our friends thinking of adopting. Thanks Heart to Heart.
