Requirements to become a foster parent
Utah families receive monthly foster care payments to help offset the costs of raising a child. This stipend is meant for room and board, clothing, and related expenses.
The amount you receive varies based on a child's age and needs. Children that require more attention and care have slightly higher rates.
Foster youth have their medical and dental needs covered through Medicaid. This insurance should be enough for any doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dental exams, etc. Foster children also qualify for free school lunches.
Utah parents can take advantage of mentorship programs that allow them to learn from more experienced foster families. It's an excellent way to connect with others and build a support network. Plus, you'll have someone else to turn to if you have questions.
Utah Kids Belong has an app that gives foster parents access to special discounts from foster-friendly businesses. It's also an easy way to connect with faith-based communities, which may offer other types of support.

I have loved working with Forever Bound Adoption. Steve and Karen (who own and run FBA) are very helpful and kind. I loved when Steve said, "I wear my adoptive couples next to my heart" and he pulled from his chest pocket a pack of little pass-along-cards with his adoptive family's photos and info on them. I once needed some paper work sent to me while Steve and Karen were on vacation. Their helpful employee went back to the office to send it to me. I feel that Karen and Steve are truly interested in making forever-bound families. I am honored to have my family's adoption under their care.
They have a great website service to express who we are as the Speirs Family. They also create darling photo books of us as well as a 5 min video made from footage we took. They have a great team to coach us through the process. They also offer free financial coaching from a third party, which we found helpful.

I've had a great experience with Forever Bound Adoption. They are so easy to work with and incredibly helpful. The employees are people of integrity that are passionate about helping families grow through adoption.
