Requirements to become a foster parent
Utah families receive monthly foster care payments to help offset the costs of raising a child. This stipend is meant for room and board, clothing, and related expenses.
The amount you receive varies based on a child's age and needs. Children that require more attention and care have slightly higher rates.
Foster youth have their medical and dental needs covered through Medicaid. This insurance should be enough for any doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dental exams, etc. Foster children also qualify for free school lunches.
Utah parents can take advantage of mentorship programs that allow them to learn from more experienced foster families. It's an excellent way to connect with others and build a support network. Plus, you'll have someone else to turn to if you have questions.
Utah Kids Belong has an app that gives foster parents access to special discounts from foster-friendly businesses. It's also an easy way to connect with faith-based communities, which may offer other types of support.

We just completed an adoption through Forever Bound and we have immensely appreciated their personal touch. Steve and Karen Sunday walk you through the process step by step, and are there with you through the highs and lows of the journey. They know who you are and are there to help you.
Steve's years of experience helped us navigate what could have been a very painful situation. He knew the warning signs to watch out for and patiently helped us through. When we were matched with our beautiful baby girl, Steve and Karen were there to celebrate with us and help us through the rest of the process. Their prices are pretty amazing too - with a detailed breakdown of what each payment goes towards.
We give the highest possible recommendation to Forever Bound - they're truly in for every birth parent, adoptive couple, and child.

We can't speak highly enough of Forever Bound Adoption. It was a pleasure working with Steve and Karen and the entire team at Forever Bound Adoption. Working with Forever Bound Adoption was a great experience. Steve and Karen were so helpful. They were always available for questions or concerns. Coordinating with an out of state agency was a little difficult but Steve gave us the support and help we needed to navigate every step of the process. Forever Bound’s concern and support for the birth mother/family as well as the adoptive family was evident from our first interaction with Steve. We are very grateful for Forever Bound Adoption and their staff.
