Requirements to become a foster parent
Utah families receive monthly foster care payments to help offset the costs of raising a child. This stipend is meant for room and board, clothing, and related expenses.
The amount you receive varies based on a child's age and needs. Children that require more attention and care have slightly higher rates.
Foster youth have their medical and dental needs covered through Medicaid. This insurance should be enough for any doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dental exams, etc. Foster children also qualify for free school lunches.
Utah parents can take advantage of mentorship programs that allow them to learn from more experienced foster families. It's an excellent way to connect with others and build a support network. Plus, you'll have someone else to turn to if you have questions.
Utah Kids Belong has an app that gives foster parents access to special discounts from foster-friendly businesses. It's also an easy way to connect with faith-based communities, which may offer other types of support.

This is actually LeeAnn Carter, Michael's wife who is writing this at this time. My husband and I had tried to start our family for 5 years. Our hearts were lonely and empty. After being told we wouldn't be able to have children unless we did IVF, we decided to explore adoption as an option as well. We felt very strongly that we should do adoption. After researching many adoption agencies and all the ways you could go about adopting, we settled on Foreverbound and have been very grateful that we did ever since. Steve Sunday, the CEO is a great guy and has been wonderful to work with. He and his wife Karen were so helpful in guiding us through the process. It is also reasonably inexpensive to work with them compared to most adoption agencies. Eventually and actually pretty quickly as far as typical adoptions are concerned. We matched with a sweet young couple who weren't ready for the responsibilities of parenthood and also didn't have family around to help them. I was really impressed with how well they took care of the birth Mom and Dad.The birth parents are just the sweetest people and we have an open adoption. I now write this as my sweet baby boy naps on my chest. We are forever grateful for foreverbound for not only bringing us to our beautiful baby boy, but also bringing us to his birth parents who are now like family as well.

I loved working with Steve and Karen through our adoption process. They were helpful and kind. They are also one of the only ethical adoption agencies in Utah. Cannot recommend enough! :)

I am a nurse in Davis County, Utah. I work with pregnant teens and young adults. One of the young women and her boyfriend decided to place their baby for adoption. They did not feel ready to take on the responsibility of being parents.
Together we found Forever Bound Adoptions on the Web and Gave them a call. Steve Sunday, owner of the company was wonderful to work with. He took time to visit regularly, he explained the adoption process very well, and he helped this young woman and her boyfriend find adoptive parents whom they felt a connection with. The adoptive parents visited with them regularly which made them feel more comfortable with their choice to place their baby for adoption.
Before and after the baby was born, Forever Bound Adoption Agency was more than accommodating. They provided temporary shelter, food, and transportation for the young couple. The adoption process went smoothly and successfully. I look forward to working with Steve Sunday and his team at Forever Bound Adoptions again in the future.
