Requirements to become a foster parent
Utah families receive monthly foster care payments to help offset the costs of raising a child. This stipend is meant for room and board, clothing, and related expenses.
The amount you receive varies based on a child's age and needs. Children that require more attention and care have slightly higher rates.
Foster youth have their medical and dental needs covered through Medicaid. This insurance should be enough for any doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dental exams, etc. Foster children also qualify for free school lunches.
Utah parents can take advantage of mentorship programs that allow them to learn from more experienced foster families. It's an excellent way to connect with others and build a support network. Plus, you'll have someone else to turn to if you have questions.
Utah Kids Belong has an app that gives foster parents access to special discounts from foster-friendly businesses. It's also an easy way to connect with faith-based communities, which may offer other types of support.

We just finalized our second adoption through Forever Bound and our experience was fantastic. After a very difficult and expensive process with our first adoption, Forever Bound made the process much easier, more affordable and much more personable.

When we started searching for agencies to handle our adoption, one of our top priorities was to find an agency who was ethical and honest in how they go about the adoption process. We chose to work with Forever Bound because they embody all of these values and really care about each person involved throughout the adoption process. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to place or adopt a child!

We are so grateful that we found Forever Bound Adoption. After talking with a few different agencies, we met with Forever Bound, who we found through my sister’s friend who was adopting through them. We were first excited to learn that Steve was previously involved with the LDS Family Services adoption program and had decades of experience. We were also impressed with the pricing, which didn’t seem inflated with a lot of expense that other agency prices seemed to reflect. Our experience so far has been great, with how open and honest they have been. We are currently matched to adopt and have appreciated how they helped to facilitate the great relationship we have with our birth mother.

We are currently working with ForeverBound to adopt Baby #2! They have been wonderful to us! They are reaching out frequently to make sure I don't have any questions about building our profile and keep us on track! The programs they utilize to build our profile and take care of financial matters are easy to use and efficient! They have never missed my phone call and respond to emails/requests promptly! I would use them over and over again! We can't wait to bring baby#2 home with their help!
