Requirements to become a foster parent
Utah families receive monthly foster care payments to help offset the costs of raising a child. This stipend is meant for room and board, clothing, and related expenses.
The amount you receive varies based on a child's age and needs. Children that require more attention and care have slightly higher rates.
Foster youth have their medical and dental needs covered through Medicaid. This insurance should be enough for any doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dental exams, etc. Foster children also qualify for free school lunches.
Utah parents can take advantage of mentorship programs that allow them to learn from more experienced foster families. It's an excellent way to connect with others and build a support network. Plus, you'll have someone else to turn to if you have questions.
Utah Kids Belong has an app that gives foster parents access to special discounts from foster-friendly businesses. It's also an easy way to connect with faith-based communities, which may offer other types of support.

I placed a baby for adoption through forever bound in October 2017. Throughout the whole process I always felt supported by the agency and it’s staff to make the best decision for my baby, even if I ended up not choosing to place for adoption. Forever bound was so helpful throughout my entire pregnancy, my time in the hospital, and after placement. I feel like things wouldn’t have gone so smoothly with the adoption if it weren’t for forever bound.

I have had great experiences with this company! I am a birth mother and forever bound helped me so much through my experience. I was clearly informed about my options and they relieved so much of my stress. Since I had such a wonderful experience I volunteer through them on panels and with different adoption events. I’m a birth mother. As I was afraid and do scared on picking to place my daughter for adoption, knowing it is the best thing for her. Steve was so sweet and nice to help me through this incredibly hard choice. Forever bound helped me find my daughters family and my life has been truly blessed. Forever bound definitely helps you see how much adoption is about love! Being a birth mother is terrifying but Steve Sunday helps you more than imagined. My life has been blessed by adoption and I thank Steve so much! Even to this day he still keeps in contact with me. It’s truly a blessing in my life.

We found Forever Bound to be a helpful and wonderful experience. We worked with Steve Sunday. He was easy to contact, willing to help, knowledgeable about the process, and kind. We had an out-of-state adoption and it wasn't the easiest process, but we were impressed with Steve's willingness to help us when needed, and provide information, and support.
