Requirements to become a foster parent
Utah families receive monthly foster care payments to help offset the costs of raising a child. This stipend is meant for room and board, clothing, and related expenses.
The amount you receive varies based on a child's age and needs. Children that require more attention and care have slightly higher rates.
Foster youth have their medical and dental needs covered through Medicaid. This insurance should be enough for any doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dental exams, etc. Foster children also qualify for free school lunches.
Utah parents can take advantage of mentorship programs that allow them to learn from more experienced foster families. It's an excellent way to connect with others and build a support network. Plus, you'll have someone else to turn to if you have questions.
Utah Kids Belong has an app that gives foster parents access to special discounts from foster-friendly businesses. It's also an easy way to connect with faith-based communities, which may offer other types of support.

We were able to be placed with our baby girl because the birthmother's counselor recommended Forever Bound Adoption to her. I am so eternally grateful that Steve and team has created a company that can be trusted! Steve always called back right away whenever I had questions. Same goes with Karen, and every team member along the way who has helped us get to where we are today!

When we first reached out to Forever Bound Adoption to gather more information, it happened to be over a holiday weekend and we received a call back that same day. We were so impressed from the very beginning.
Lisa, Karen, and Steve were wonderful to work with, quick to respond to any of our questions, and so helpful throughout the adoption process. We had an excellent experience and highly recommend them!

Steve and Karen Sunday were very responsive and open and honest with what we should expect. They would take the time to talk through different options and were forthcoming regarding the cost and time frame of things. We adopt our newborn son, Levi, almost a year ago now. My wife and I were fortunate enough to adopt through Forever Bound. When we met with several agencies in Utah, we were most impressed with Steve and Karen from Forever Bound Adoption. It was evident from the beginning they were experts in the industry and were very transparent. I found it helpful that their process and fees were all on their website.
Steve was extremely helpful during the process and answered any and all questions. It was evident he developed a strong relationship with our birth mother. He is very personable, kind, and willing to help wherever he can. He also hosted a monthly Adoption Support Group which allowed us to ask questions, hear others adoption stories and familiarize ourself with the process. I found that to be very helpful.
Overall, our experience with Forever Bound Adoption was excellent and I recommend them to anyone!
