Our Foster Care program provides boys and girls ages 4–17 with emotional or behavioral difficulties an opportunity to live within the community in the naturally therapeutic environment of a family. Our foster parents are trained, supervised, and supported by the Laurel Heights Specialized Foster Care Treatment Team.
Family consultants work with the foster family, birth parents, case managers, and the child to ensure that therapeutic, academic, social, and medical needs are met. Family consultants also provide 24-hour on-call support and work closely with case managers and birth families to support family reunification goals.

Requirements to become a foster parent
The DHS assists foster families with placement and ensures the child adjusts well to their new environment. Disgusting place and not helpful for my son! He was sent here bc he was threatening suicide bc he didnt want to have to go back and live with his dad who is emotional and verbally abusive. I stressed this concern to them and so did my son. However "Meg F" turned her head to the situation and sent him back to his dads 6 days after he got there. When i came to visit my son. The lady at the front desk asked how long my son would be here at the facilty and i said i didnt know and she said "well he will be here until your insurance tells him to leave" its all about the money once again. The children here dont have a voice and its sad and something needs to be done. "Professionals" have got to start being held accountable for there actions or lack there of. Broken system everywhere! DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN HERE.

I spoke with the Intake Coordinator one night and she was very nice over the phone. The call seemed promising. She gathered details about my child's behavior. I was told that I'd receive a follow up call within several days which never happened. I contacted the hospital as a plea for help for my child and they didn't follow through. Fortunately, I was able to get help somewhere else.

This place is very unorganized . The staff are nice but they dont communicate details to Dr at all . My child has been at this place several times due to no beds available in Tn. I dont think they have enough help. I think there needs to be more communication between the assistant and Dr since the patient asstance are the ones who are with the patient 24/7 . This is a bug issue . Everytime i call and speak with susan the nursr practioner that works with Dr seoul im told my child doing great . But see i get calls almost everynite saying my child isnt sleeping is wired so its very unorganized. It makes me very upset that the Dr doesnt have the patients assitant in the morning meeting about each patient .
