Our Foster Care program provides boys and girls ages 4–17 with emotional or behavioral difficulties an opportunity to live within the community in the naturally therapeutic environment of a family. Our foster parents are trained, supervised, and supported by the Laurel Heights Specialized Foster Care Treatment Team.
Family consultants work with the foster family, birth parents, case managers, and the child to ensure that therapeutic, academic, social, and medical needs are met. Family consultants also provide 24-hour on-call support and work closely with case managers and birth families to support family reunification goals.

Requirements to become a foster parent
The DHS assists foster families with placement and ensures the child adjusts well to their new environment. Whether you have years of parenting experience or are relatively new to the idea, they have many support options for families. You can find plenty of information on the DHS/DFCS website or call them for more assistance.
Your local licensed child placement agency also places children in the foster system with carefully matched parents. Although foster care is temporary, it's crucial to find the right fit. That's why parents get a say in age range and gender.

(Dont Send Your Child Here If They Are NOT Agressive Or Fighters...THEY WILL BE BULLIED)lol i was here back in 2014 or 2015 ...on 7north or 7south ...but anyways i faught EVERYDAY ....We had riots .....I was knocked uncouncious While i was in a fight once......Never was Boring lol.....Dont Send your child here if they are not fighters...

I had the pleasure of meeting and working w/ Natallie Doram. She is a caring , considerate person who cares about her patients. I highly recommend her to anyone who has a female patient enrolled here between the age of 12-17.

worked at this place for over a year, i would not send my child there period, the staff is terrible, the building maintenance is terrible, the food is terrible, kids are left alone to roam, ive never seen soooo many over medicated children the hallways when the staff has lost patience with them, some even injuring themselves, name changed because i am a current employee feeling like i work in the stone age the building is old and rodent infested, ive seen rats mice roaches spiders wasps ants flies several occassions some eaten by the kids....terrible place for the kids. staff does not care. will be leaving once i graduate.

I would have gave 0 if I could... first off I want to say Mr malcolm ( how you told my son to spell it) and Ms shy you do not need to work with kids at all and I hope you don't have kids of your own.... how could you abuse my son.. put him in the basement to sleep restrained with only a tank top, shorts and a diaper no socks or shoes or cover for punishment.

Worked for UHS for 5yrs....was here for 4 1/2 months and hated every minute. There's nothing therapeutic about the way these UHS facilities operate. I can run a facility a whole lot better than these morons. I felt bad for my clients. After 5yrs....I'm finally done. DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE!!!
