Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

Still waiting on a call back. I've tried reaching out many times but still have not gotten a response. This place is very hard to work with I would not recommend.

I started using 26Health’s services at the beginning of this year and am very satisfied so far. Milena in Behavioral has been such a light, personally reaching out when I was having issues with the intake form (it doesn’t seem to work properly on tablets or phones, though could have been user error) as well as having a truly genuine, caring nature. Her attitude was the reason I was motivated to start using their services and I am very glad I did since everyone I have interacted with has already been so helpful.

This place is amazing. First off Luke in the behavioral Heath department is amazing. He took the time to go through what 26 Health has to offer and which provider could help best my needs. Also he took the time to hear me out and vent for a short moment...I have been going through a lot with my son and it’s been hard for someone to understand. Most places just want your info and to tell you a scheduled appointment...but not here, like was willing to listen and take time to understand and assist.
I was nervous at first because I knew 26 health has issues with communication and I knew it was hard to get into a place like this but I am so happy someone there, like Luke could help. I really recommend you to call Luke and get your answers questioned. If I could I would give this place 6 out 5 stars so far.

Dr. S.P.... who in the world is this provider? Where are his morals as a provider, respectfully? And why would 26 health bring him on board? 26 health has been a great experience over the last 5 years of our journey. I have respected the many providers I have been introduced to because of changes within the company. However, this specific provider has ruined the reputation of this company. He intentionally tried to destroy the person I have built based on “personal opinion”. Goodbye Dr. S.P. You are not an ally of our community and are no longer welcome by us.
