Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

Great LGBTQ+ services in Orlando!

Such unprofessional administration. I made an appointment a week in advance and gave them my insurance numbers and everything. The person told me to write it down because I missed my appointment a week prior. I showed up and they told me I did not have an appointment scheduled! Unbelievable. Now I have to wait a month. Orlando's mental health care is absolutely abused. I moved here in October and still haven't found a therapist. I have called over 75. Everytime I DO make an appointment something like this happens. I am on my last leg. I am about to SNAP and I'll be DAMNED if anyone tells me it is my fault.
FLORIDA DOES NOT CARE ABOUT MENTAL HEALTH WHATSOEVER!!!!

Nice staff that really takes care of patients

After years of being a patient here I am done. This was, at one time, the only accessible provider for HRT for me. They eventually became my primary care. The actual healthcare providers and the care and attention they gave was always above and beyond. But the horrible office staff and strict and punishing limitations they out on patients and providers isn't worth it. They always overworked and overbooked providers are given only 15 minutes with remote patients. I paid multiple fees for 'no show' appointments, simply because I couldn't get a hold of anyone to cancel appointments. I was essentially left in the lurch for the entire pandemic, and spent a few weeks without meds since no one contacted me about how I could still get bloodwork done as a remote patient. For the first few years of HRT I was forced to drive to Orlando from palm Bay for this, because I had to get the blood drawn there in order to recieve the lower partner payment fees. The last straw was today when I received a call essentially demanding my pay stubs for reassessment on the sliding scale for payment, get this, The day of my appointment! I was never notified of the fact that Apparently it expired in October and the lower fee I paid for my last November appointment was a 'courtesy'!? I don't know what they are doing with their office staff, or administration, but they either seriously need to reassess the situation. At this point they are essentially preying on the queer community, soaking up grants and funding, claiming the provide care that is actually torture to obtain. This post is petty, I know, but it's Tru. Oh and they will pointlessly spam you with customer service surveys, but never do anything else about the problems, since the problem is not with the care they provide, but the access.
Edit: re: 26Health please do not contact me further. Thank you for your reply to my review.
