Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS OFFICE
I have no words for how terrible this office is. First let me start by saying I have been a patient for going on 3 years now and have never been treated so poorly by ANY medical or behavioral health staff in my life.
*Bullet points on the major issues*
•no one answers phones or returns call EVER (yes you will still get charged for the appointment you've been trying to cancel for 2 weeks)
•medical staff shuffles through patients as fast as they can with no care about how the patient is doing
•they do not care about you they only want your money
•THEY WILL MISGENDER YOU (BIG NO NO)
•hire at a rate to which no one is ever trained or aware of what they are doing.
My experience:
For a transgender clinic to misgender people is unacceptable. And for them to do it repetitively is not only insulting but degrading. The medical staff simply doesn't care enough to pay attention to their patience and are cycling through them as fast as they can. Scheduling always seems to be an issue. I called everyday for 2 weeks trying to cancel an appointment and never received a return call. Only to be charged for a missed appointment. This happens frequently. To everyone from what I've heard and read about this 'clinic'. Calling this place a health facility is an insult to the professionals who take there job seriously. If you do get lucky and they scheduled your appointment for the correct time and date they will place you in a room like any other health clinic. Hopefully you wont be there for hours like I was EVERY SINGLE TIME. In the past year EVERY TIME I was placed in a room I was left to say for at least an hour before I would have to track someone on the staff down. When complaining about it formally to hire ups I was asked if my appointment was on Friday. Aside from that being a pathetic excuse it just goes to show how much the staff 'cares'. Lastly, even though I could write a book, I would like to mention behavioral health. My experience with them has been decent at best. The scheduling on this side seems to be a little better but the staff is no more caring than the medical. Today I was denied a letter that was REQUESTED BY MY COLLEGE from a medical or MENTAL HEALTH SPECIALIST. Steven, a therapist, refused to write the letter requested BY MY COLLEGE because it did not have to do with my mental health treatment. This letter is the only thing preventing me from starting the nursing program next month. So I will be returning to my competent doctors office (Pinero health - if anyone needs a GREAT doctors office) to have AN ACTUAL DOCTOR (which this clinic is always lacking) write this letter for me. So I can begin school.
I'm not sure if this office is here to help the transgender community or set them back. If you take the time to read this do not waste your time or money on this place but more importantly do not trust your health in their careless hands. I already know I will get the same basic response to this as they give to all their negative reveiws. However, at least my business doesn't have to beg or pay for 5 star feedback. 👌

Was treated very nice all the staff is very awsome they go out of there way to make you feel like you are welcome.in my second visit to doctor office i feel like they are family already in therapy. Roberto is a awsome therapist love coming to this place god bless

Great people and great service!!!!! I love Ms. Marisol and Dr. Vargas!!!!! I feel sad when knowing Dr. Vargas retired!

The staff here is incredible. They always have me laughing! The atmosphere is comforting. I love all the new changes that have happened in the office since I started going there. The doctor I have is awesome! She is always looking out for what is in my best interest. She takes the time to go over whatever I need and doesn’t make it seem like she is on a time crunch to get to the next person. Two Spirits genuinely cares about their patients. I couldn’t ask for a better place. Thank you to all the staff and doctors for everything you do!!!

Brandi makes my visits to Two Spirit just that much better. My hair removal experience with her has been top notch. I’m always nervous going in but her calm demeanor and quick work makes everything ok. I can’t recommend her enough!
