Requirements to become a foster parent

Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Prove good health and ability to care for a child
  • Maintain a stable income
  • Pass a background screening
  • Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
  • Complete a Home Study

The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

I initiated my transition through the mental and medical services provided by Two Spirit. I can't believe it has already been two years since my first visit. By definition, it is a clinic, but to call it a clinic in some way diminishes Two Spirit. When we think of a clinic or something clinical, it seems inhuman or cold and sterile.

In fact, this LGBTQ haven is full of compassionate people. It's a staff of capable, caring individuals who genuinely want to be a part of you becoming the best and most authentic person you can be. I drive more than an hour from Port Orange because I feel that strongly about Two Spirit. If you are questioning, there are answers for you here.

Clean office, compassionate staff, and I absolutely love my doctor. Truly appreciate the networking system within the office to help with progression and accomplishments for correctional purposes and health! Highly recommend!

I have had bad experience going into the medical office almost everytime. I would not reccomend Dr. Steve to anyone. His lack of comminication and his attitude is crazy bad. The only help I've gotten from this office was from a nurse named Jullian. I would reccomend him to everybody. He is extremely kind and took care of the issues i had with the office.
