Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

This place is a godsend to anyone afflicted by HIV. Ken Terrell has helped me so much. Along with Steve Seals and Dr. Vargas! My friend Brittani referred me to this place and everyone is very knowledgeable! Ken especially made the process amazingly easy and less stressful.

Just had my first visit with Dr. Vargas on 1/25/19 and it was every bit of welcoming as the initial call (spoke with Marisol) to schedule my appointment. I arrived 30 minutes early to complete new patient forms and was called back within 5 minutes of being there. Dr. Vargas was able to assist me with providing my medications until I am able to see a specialist (They have them in the same building) and drew blood on sight! Upon filling out paperwork I noticed that Two Spirits Health offers additional assistance to Pulse Victims and those who were effected by it. As a Medical Professional myself, I value the love and care they provide to everyone no matter the walk of life they choose. Soon enough I will be returning for my annual physical! Without a doubt, I would highly recommend Two Spirits Health!!

I love heading to see Brandi every month! She’s such a sweet person and so professional. The spa is so adorable. I am absolutely loving my hair removal results. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thanks Brandi and Thanks Two Spirit for being my go to place!

Two Spirit Health is honestly one of the last clinics who still care deeply about their patients. Not only do they provide much needed services for the LGBTQ community but they go above & beyond to help you navigate the unique difficulties of finding the best medical & mental health services for you, and they help navigate the puzzling rules of today's insurance requirements. We don't feel like "just a number" there like we've felt at so many other doctor's offices. Marisol, especially is amazing and takes care of all those details which we don't always think about our know how to take care of. And Jason is such a great therapist. Thank you Two Spirit!

Joanne and Mary in Behavioral Health are the absolute BEST. They always go above and beyond to fit us in the schedule and make sending paperwork to other offices a seamless process. They really go out of their way to make everyone feel welcome. It is so obvious that they love what they do and it shines through. They really are such warn and wonderful people.
