Requirements to become a foster parent

Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Prove good health and ability to care for a child
  • Maintain a stable income
  • Pass a background screening
  • Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
  • Complete a Home Study

The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

Do not waste your money but more importantly your time. The lack of experience in this office is torturous. It's terrible enough Health care in this country is in shambles but then places like this exist that just love to waste patients time and money. I will spare no feelings as my time was wasted and my feelings were not considered ever.
2 months later and a freaking doctor can't fill out a referral properly. I'm just happy my life doesn't depend on an office like this, I'd rather be buried alive as I would probably have a hire chance of survival.

First of all ...if ANY provider is telling a transgender patient they need counseling in order to receive HRT then the provider is not following WPATH guidelines which is at the moment forming a "gate keeping effect" to transgender people.
2011 7th Edition WPATH guidelines CLEARLY state " NIMH no longer list Transgenderism as a mental health concern". And when a patient wants HRT the patient's prescribing physician (usually the patient's GP) will perform a brief psychological exam to ascertain the readiness of transgender patients to under go HRT care. A lot of misinformation and it is downright Wrong. Just another form of discrimination and all I can fathom is ALL these so called "Transgender centers" supposedly in place to assist transgender patients are doing nothing more that trying to collect more funds from transgender patients. I only know this because I am not iliterate...LOL and at this very moment I have been legally prescribed Hrt. For 7 years and have all my letters but now I have these same supposedly Transgender care" friendly" clinics denying me my HRT. You money grubers are creating chaos in the trans community...doing more harm than good. Do not go to these places. Apparently they are not here to assist Transmen. Disgusting.

Rewriting my review. I moved it to one star to 3 since they've upped their game. But they still never answer the phone. No matter what time of the day.

Almost every time I've been here (every 3-6 months) I haven't seen the same doctor. I saw Dr. Ellis and now I'm seeing Dr. Williams. But now I'm here for a prescription and she's not here.

If there was another way I could get HRT I would go elsewhere.

The doctors have been nothing but kind and understanding. They have been willing to let me pay late with no fees and over the phone when money has been tight and every visit has been quick and painless. The revolving door of doctors has been disappointing and hopefully that will be fixed.
