Requirements to become a foster parent
Utah families receive monthly foster care payments to help offset the costs of raising a child. This stipend is meant for room and board, clothing, and related expenses.
The amount you receive varies based on a child's age and needs. Children that require more attention and care have slightly higher rates.
Foster youth have their medical and dental needs covered through Medicaid. This insurance should be enough for any doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dental exams, etc. Foster children also qualify for free school lunches.
Utah parents can take advantage of mentorship programs that allow them to learn from more experienced foster families. It's an excellent way to connect with others and build a support network. Plus, you'll have someone else to turn to if you have questions.
Utah Kids Belong has an app that gives foster parents access to special discounts from foster-friendly businesses. It's also an easy way to connect with faith-based communities, which may offer other types of support.

We have been thrilled with our experiences at Mother Goose Preschool. The teachers are fantastic and loving and both of my sons have thoroughly enjoyed going to school there (one is attending currently and the other is now in 3rd grade). My son that is currently attending is always counting down to the next time he gets to go to school and he has loved the field trips. I highly recommend Mother Goose Preschool. Your child will have fun while learning and Mrs. Daniels has great ideas for helping your child at home.

We highly recommend this preschool! We moved to the area several years ago and was recommended to MGP from a friend. Our first child went there as a 3 yr old, and then for a 2nd year as a 4 yr old, and we were very impressed with how well he was prepared for Kindergarten. Karen Daniels is an exceptional teacher and has the perfect personality to boot .. the kids love her and so do we! Karen is very knowledgeable and her experience is apparent when you see how well she handles kids of all personalities and backgrounds. Her staff is very supportive and amazing as well!
We have had all 5 of our children in Mother Goose and have loved it every year! We even moved 15 mins away from the area and continued bringing our 4th and 5th child to the school because we knew MGP was the best.

I highly recommend this preschool to all of my friends. Karen does a great job making learning fun, and meaningful. Everything she does has a purpose. Both of my children have loved attending here and I felt safe leaving them in her care. My kids have been more than prepared to enter Kindergarten after attending, we are so grateful to Karen for all of her hard work!
