Requirements to become a foster parent
Utah families receive monthly foster care payments to help offset the costs of raising a child. This stipend is meant for room and board, clothing, and related expenses.
The amount you receive varies based on a child's age and needs. Children that require more attention and care have slightly higher rates.
Foster youth have their medical and dental needs covered through Medicaid. This insurance should be enough for any doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dental exams, etc. Foster children also qualify for free school lunches.
Utah parents can take advantage of mentorship programs that allow them to learn from more experienced foster families. It's an excellent way to connect with others and build a support network. Plus, you'll have someone else to turn to if you have questions.
Utah Kids Belong has an app that gives foster parents access to special discounts from foster-friendly businesses. It's also an easy way to connect with faith-based communities, which may offer other types of support.

really solid preschool. Great job

This is the best preschool. They have competitive prices (it was actually the best price I found in my area), a structured curriculum (not just a “go play for 2.5 hours”, but an actual learning program), and the greatest teachers! My daughter had 16 kids in her class and most days there were 3+ teachers. They have monthly field trips where they had a true learning experience each time. I cannot rave on this in-home preschool more! I would 100% recommend and will be bringing my other children here when the time comes.

My daughter loves this preschool!
The student/ teacher ratio is about 5/1, so the kids have plenty of supervision and attention. The teachers are knowledgeable, kind, and the school is well organized. Accommodations are also made for students who need them.
The kids go on several fun field trips and do a variety of art projects. They use all their senses to learn the curriculum too!
My little boy will be attending this fall, and I know he will love it too!

Unfortunately, I do not recommend this preschool. Karen has too many students in a small space. The relationship between student and teacher wasn't very personal for my child. My preschooler had a hard time coming to the preschool each time, because of it. My child never seemed like she was progressing in this preschool. She would come home and say she didn't want to come back. She wouldn't point out letters, sing any songs, talk about anything they did, absolutely nothing!
Karen wasn't upfront with all the extra fees for field trips, renting out the building for the Christmas singing or end of the year program. You pay $110 plus all these extra monthly fees. I would plan on paying at least up to $120 monthly.
The communication is poor. Karen isn't consistent with responding to emails or text messages. I ordered scholastic from her in October. I gave her cash for it and never received my order. It is March. I called, texted, emailed, and talked to her in person. She hasn't responded to any of my messages. She hasn't done anything to refund or give me my order. When I have talked to her in person multiple times she just smiles and says I haven't done it yet.
I decided to take my preschooler somewhere else. She is excelling and doing better then she did at Mothergoose in a week. It is unfortunate this was our experience with this preschool. I was referred by a friend to come here and it was a terrible experience for us.
This will not be a place I will recommend for anyone.
