Adoption by Shepherd Care (ASC) was founded in 1980 and is currently the oldest Florida-based international & Domestic adoption agency assisting Expectant Parents facing unplanned pregnancies, Orphans in need of a Forever Family and Prospective Adoptive Families desiring to become parents through adoption.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

We were so blessed by the staff at ASC. Through all the ups and downs, we felt that they cared about us a great deal. After completing our family through them, we feel like they are also a part of our family!

We had a great experience with Adoption by Shepherd Care, we adopted our son 6 years ago, they treated us like family, they helped us become a family that I prayed everyday to be a parent. I was unable to carry my own children so i am so thankful that they could help us. They help us keep in touch with the birth parents.

I cannot express how great they are, I owe them everything! I've met nothing but angels❤ Kira is honestly the sweetest person alive and it's been a blessing to meet and work with her. I have gained a friend for life. Everyone at shepherd care is so open and compassionate whether you are a birth mom or family to be there is no better place out there. They truly care and go over and beyond to make sure you are ok. I love you guys soo much❤❤❤

I recently call Adoption by Shepherd Care to look into adoption. I've been unable to have children and family is important to me. I spoke with Jaci Leonor and she was so helpful! Knowing I have options is very comforting. Thank you Jaci for all your help!!
