Adoption by Shepherd Care (ASC) was founded in 1980 and is currently the oldest Florida-based international & Domestic adoption agency assisting Expectant Parents facing unplanned pregnancies, Orphans in need of a Forever Family and Prospective Adoptive Families desiring to become parents through adoption.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

It Is very difficult to write a short review.
ASC is the reason my wife and i were able to have our two beautiful boys. We could not imagine not having the kids we have now.
I can Not thank Claudia Martinez enough , as she was part of this this whole process. I recomend this agency, this team, the wonderful people and group of profesionals that day to day take this amazing journey to the next level . We love Claudia and the whole team.

I had an amazing experience with Adoption by Shepherd Care! Specially with Heidi, one super important part of my adoption process is my Home Study, I was worry after hearing that it would be a long and tedious process but it wasn’t, working with Heidi everything moved quickly, she was very professional and made the whole experience relatively easy. She kept in contact and explained every detail from the beginning until my Home Study was approved. Thank you Heidi and Adoption by Shepherd to help me in the process to achieve my dream to become a parent.
