Adoption by Shepherd Care (ASC) was founded in 1980 and is currently the oldest Florida-based international & Domestic adoption agency assisting Expectant Parents facing unplanned pregnancies, Orphans in need of a Forever Family and Prospective Adoptive Families desiring to become parents through adoption.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

What a blessing to have had Adoption by Shepherd Care on our side during the adoption process. We honestly always felt like we were part of a family, not just a number. The staff was very caring and responsive. We were always well informed and felt that they were genuinely concerned about our family. To this day, I still remember everyone very fondly and thank them in our prayers for making what for many is a stressful process, simply joyful. I recommend Adoption by Shepherd Care to all who are interested in adopting, whether domestically or internationally.
