Laurel Heights Hospital

This facility is amazing! My son was just there for an acute 4 day stay. Their team and services are phenomenal. He's so much better since he's been home. The staff treated him really good. He had no complaints. They communicated with me very well and eased alot of my worries. Everyone was kind and understanding. I'm extremely greatful to Laurel Heights for how they've helped us. If you're looking for services for your child I definitley recommend this facility.

don't send your loved ones to this place. they abuse their patients and they have no regard for safety or actually helping their patients. they had such a horrible security system that my loved one was able to escape the facility at night and no one noticed they were gone until the next morning. they give borderline lethal doses of sedatives to patients considered rowdy and then lock them in tiny closets. if you want your family or friends to get help, send them somewhere else. if you truly care about helping someone, you'll send them anywhere except this horrible place. my loved one had multiple broken bones upon arrival and was never even treated for them. not even pain killers. if you decide to send your loved one here, they can and will come back a different person, but not in a good way. this facility, if you could even call it that, will ruin every last bit of humanity left in their patients. and their only goal? money. everything to them is a transaction, when the focus should be helping people. facilities were made with the people in mind not the business. whoever is running this place should be in prison for letting his staff treat anyone the way they do. there's a special place in the afterlife for people like the ones running laurel heights. i'm sad to say that there isn't a single positive thing to say about this place.

When your child arrives you can rest assure that your child's medication will be changed. Your children's behavior will take a turn for the worst. The facility will play with the children's medication in order to see an increase in the children's behavior. When the children display increased behaviors the treatment team will postpone or delay the child's discharge day. Please understand, your child is nothing more than a dollar sign. As far as therapy is concerned, what therapy? If you send your child here just tell the world you needed a break. Your child will not receive help. Why do think LHH accept the kids that nobody else wants? Well it is because of the money. This place is not a good place to be. Seriously, if you want your children to actually get better, reconsider and send them some place else. For the most part, staff will do the very best that they can. However, with little to no support from the higher ups, there is really little that can be done. Staff has witnessed their patient's health decline on so many occasions. Staff would report the information. However, the information would often fall on death ears until the patient(s) becomes gravely ill. It's really a sad situation.

Well to add to my previous review. The only good thing that came out of this hospital is the psychiatrist. She put my daughter on suitable meds and her condition improved. They might be doing a good job in there but the lack of professionalism from the staff keeps you doubtful. Even though my daughter got better the five days she was there were like hell. Can’t call nor can get updates. They take your child and you stay in the dark the entire time they are there. I would never send my daughter there again. I’m praying to God that she gets better and we never need mental hospitals again. Children suffering from mental illness need lots of love and reassurance. Isolating them from their parents this way is a very bad approach.
