Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

Gift of Life goes above and beyond to provide mother's placing for adoption and adoptive parents a beautiful adoption experience. I have never met such an amazing group of people, with so much compassion for helping those they serve. They work very hard for their clients to provide them with a smooth and fulfilling adoption process. The staff at Gift of Life recognize how emotional and important this decision is for Mother's and do everything in their power for their clients. All the members of this team are experienced, educated, and compassionate allowing them to do great work. Though I must mention, the executive director has extensive experience and education, which allows her to do an incredible job serving those who seek services from Gift of Life! She has assisted this agency in many adoptions helping birth parents make this selfless decision and adoptive parents be blessed with a child that they have been hoping for. She was a joy to work with! Thank you, Gift of Life, for such an incredible experience with your agency!!!

Gift of Life Adoptions was a phenomenal agency to work with in bringing our baby boy home with care, compassion and professionalism. We are so grateful for their willingness to go above and beyond on availability and for their open communication throughout the entire process. We could tell that the staff here cared about birth mothers and adopting families and we are so grateful for the open relationship we will continue to have with our son's birthmother.

The staff at gift of life adoptions really help me alot. I had to do the hardest thing in my life but I only wanted what was best for my son the staff has really been here for me I thank each and everyone of them for everything they have done for me and my son y'all are a great sopport
