Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

Working with this agency was great. They were helpful and always there when we needed them. They helped us during a very rough time in our life and were caring and compassionate.

Communication is horrible. I am a adoptive parent and I have repeatedly had to wait weeks/months to get a response back.
I feel like they got my $ and now they ghost me.

I am currently working with the staff. The office can be a tad bit quiet. Overall they are supportive and helping to the birth mothers. My case worker is Brittany and she is very understanding & Helpful. They give you a weekly allowance of $110 dollars. You can cash the check at amscot down the street.
Anyone looking for an adoption agency I fully reccommend them. You can have an open adoption as well as flexibility in your decision making.
