Adoptions With Love was founded in 1986 with the vision of providing compassionate care and meeting the needs of pregnant women contemplating adoption while finding the best home for each child. Adoptions With Love is a private, non-profit, licensed, full-service domestic adoption agency. Since 2001, under the direction of Amy Cohen and Nancy Rosenhaus, over 360 new families have been created. Birth parents continue to receive compassionate and comprehensive counseling during the adoption process and on-going support afterward. Some of the AWL birth parents still call today and stay in touch with the staff, updating Amy and Nancy about their lives. In May 2016, Adoptions With Love celebrated their 30th anniversary and over 2,000 placements of beautiful children with loving families. Now in 2019, AWL has completed over 2,500 placements.

Today, Adoptions With Love, Inc, remains the premier non-profit domestic adoption agency serving prospective adoptive parents and expectant/birth parents all over the United States.

Adoptions With Love is a private adoption agency offering open and closed adoptions, home study services, financial assistance for birth mothers, and more.

Requirements to become a foster parent

Your local DCF or foster agency offers various services for foster children and families. Parents have access to training and educational resources as well as support groups.

Foster children also have health insurance covered. The DCF provides foster families with a stipend to cover care needs like food and board. The state also offers a clothing allowance every three months that helps to reimburse parents.

A case worker visits resources families every other month or as needed, and children in foster care are also assigned a social worker. These resources are invaluable points of contact for foster parents.

Local support organizations provide further support, such as resources and helplines. Foster families in Massachusetts also form groups to assist one another, share stories, and give advice. It's an excellent opportunity to create new connections and learn more as a parent.

Adopted 3 newborn babies 1995-99. Support through the entire process including when these babies were teens and adults looking to connect with birth parents. Kind & caring staff. I highly recommend them for building your family.

AWL has been such a wonderful place to work! The staff and leadership are supportive, kind, and genuinely care about each other and the work they do. Amy and Nancy have been incredible mentors and have helped me to grow immensely over my time as the Expectant/Birth Parent Coordinator. This agency is trustworthy and the best in the field! I will miss everyone at AWL, and cherish my time as an employee there!

I am so grateful to have found and worked with Adoptions with Love while on my journey to motherhood! I now have an adorable 9 month old son and couldn't imagine my life without him! From the beginning Nancy from AWL was there to answer any questions I had and help me navigate the process. That was no easy feat given all the curveballs COVID-19 threw our way, but Nancy always was up front with what she knew and would tell me if something might be different than previously planned/expected due to the pandemic! She is knowledgeable, understanding, professional, and kind. In fact, everyone I interacted with at AWL was honest and straightforward, and you could tell they cared deeply about both my adoption journey as well as that of the birth parents'. Adoptions with Love is a great agency to work with and I would whole heartedly recommend them!

We adopted our 'baby' 33 years ago through AWL. At that time we were working with several other agencies but when we spoke to the people at AWL we decided to work exclusively with them. AWL was a new agency at the time but we were impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail. Amy Cohen was our social worker and she supported us through every step of the process with kindness and transparency. At that time 33 years ago, AWL had a program in which birthmothers could spend the last few months of their pregnancy with another family (not the family that would be adopting their baby). "V" stayed with us for the last 6 weeks of her pregnancy. During that time V had many counseling sessions with AWL during which she was frequently encouraged to reevaluate her plan for her baby. V expressed to us her appreciation for the compassion and kindness with which she was treated at AWL.
Our 'baby' D is now 33 years old. She graduated college and graduate school and practices her profession of nurse practitioner. Two years ago D decided to independently search for her birthmother. What a wonderful reunion it was when D connected with her birthmother, her husband, and her half sister. Six months ago D was married in a small 'Covid wedding'. Although we could only invite a small group of family and friends, it was such a thrill to have D's birth family attend. Recently D and her husband learned that friends of theirs had coincidentally adopted a baby through AWL. They were drawn to the same qualities that attracted us and we were so happy to see that AWL is still working to build families with the same respect and compassion that we appreciated 33 years ago.
