Services include the assessment of families who apply to adopt, matching available children with available homes, preparing children for placement, and providing services to our adoptive children and families before, during, and after placement is made to include provisions of adoption subsidy services to eligible families.

Requirements to become a foster parent
You're never alone when you foster as you work as part of a professional team. Louisiana’s Department of Children and Family Services partners with many organizations to help support foster children and the families that care for them.
The collaborative Foster Caregiver Mentor Program encourages peer relationships between foster families. It's an effective way for new resource parents to meet with more experienced caregivers and get advice.
Your local DCFS also has plenty of resources online, including parent handbooks, contact information, and emergency service information. You can learn more about child welfare agencies and how to become a foster parent.
A child-placing agency is always there for you, providing support in times of crisis or even when you have questions. Don't forget about the case worker, who you can contact if you feel lost.
Working with the birth parents is another part of a foster parent's job. However, you don't have to simply contact them to set up visitations and calls. Co-parenting with them is often best for the child, and it can make your job easier.

They suck!

Moved here from Wisconsin in February and worked at Sonic for 2 weeks til sometime in March. The lady who conducted my food share interview said last 60 days for jobs and apparently I still gotta fill out my wages and proof that I don't work at Sonic anymore. The form she mailed me says dates that I worked from May 1st til June 1st so they are asking me to lie on my application. Gonna request a hearing over this because this is ridiculous and I'm not going to be turned down because of this workers poorly done job. I've worked two jobs and currently work at Circle K right now and don't have to fill anything out on those. Feel like this is a targeted request because I told her me and the manager don't get along because her son was stealing my tips during training.

I’ve Been calling for a month and can’t find out what’s going on with the funds. They are holding the funds for no reason. I need the funds for my children and it’s on hold. Smh

This is an embezzlement agency. Compare all your payments or garnishments to court orders. Willing to bet this agency collected more than court ordered so the state can collect more federal tax dollars off already embezzled funds. And remember State lawmakers created the purposefully broken, vague & corrupt state statutes to enable this billion dollar profit machine.

I have reported where my kids father work back on November 17,2022 chatted today and the rep see nothing has been done in my file since those notes were sent to my worker . This is unacceptable . We will be living on the dam street waiting on these funds . DCFS needs a straight up overhaul and not inhouse hire from outside to get it in order cause I need my $$$. I need to talk to a live person not a damn computer .
