The largest Georgia-based, Christ-centered child-placing agency. We provide foster care & adoption services.

With roughly 1,600 children waiting for adoptive homes each year and more than 11,000 children in foster care in Georgia, we believe the answer to this crisis is the church.

We partner with local churches to help raise and license adoptive, foster, and respite families. A Christ-centered foster care and adoptive ministry allows churches to care for vulnerable children and their families and provides a way to support foster and adoptive families.

More than 60 million evangelical Christians are participating in over 300,000 churches nationwide. This provides an incredible opportunity to engage in foster care and adoption. With its existing infrastructure and caring congregants, each local church and its community of believers can be the solution to the local foster care problem.

Requirements to become a foster parent

The DHS assists foster families with placement and ensures the child adjusts well to their new environment. Whether you have years of parenting experience or are relatively new to the idea, they have many support options for families. You can find plenty of information on the DHS/DFCS website or call them for more assistance.

Your local licensed child placement agency also places children in the foster system with carefully matched parents. Although foster care is temporary, it's crucial to find the right fit. That's why parents get a say in age range and gender.

There are also many state support groups for foster families that provide educational resources, services, and more. Connecting with these organizations and adding to your personal support network will be invaluable.

One of the best ways to become a better parent, whether you plan on fostering a child short-term or adopting, is to read as much as you can about Georgia's foster system. For instance, recently proposed bills would help to streamline parts of the state's foster care placement system.

You can find plenty of information available online for free as well. Blogs, podcasts, and videos are all incredibly useful ways to obtain new information about fostering.

When our family was lead to foster, Faithbridge walked us through the whole process and continues to support us in this amazing adventure. Faithbridge assigns a rep to each family and our rep Amy is incredible, so knowledgable and supportive, not sure how we could do this without her. Faithbridge also helps set up a whole community of care and has an annual summit with speakers and support, it's really encouraging. Icing on the cake is the prayer and faith provided by everyone involved.

We have had a wonderful experience with FaithBridge Foster Care!
All of the FaithBridge staff we interact with are caring, supportive, and professional. FaithBridge helps us navigate the foster care system, which allows us more time to focus on caring for the children in our home.

We absolutely love Faithbridge! I could not imagine being a foster parent without the support and care that we received from them. They helped our kids get the support and services that they need and they helped us to be the best foster parents that we could be by raising up people in our church body to help us. All around great people doing great things in our community!!!

These people are not christians!! They took a child out of a home with no warning and no legit reason away from the only parents she ever knew! They lied and committed some deceitful acts and nothing was done in the best interests of the child. The child was not being abused and in good health. She had everything she needed and a lot of what she wanted. She is loved by her church family and other family. She loved her parents and for them to just take her and tear a family apart like that is wrong. And I am a witness that this family truly loved this child and she was safe, protected, loved, and didn't want for anything. This is sad and I pray that God have mercy on the soul of the person who lied and tore this family apart.
