The largest Georgia-based, Christ-centered child-placing agency. We provide foster care & adoption services.

With roughly 1,600 children waiting for adoptive homes each year and more than 11,000 children in foster care in Georgia, we believe the answer to this crisis is the church.

We partner with local churches to help raise and license adoptive, foster, and respite families. A Christ-centered foster care and adoptive ministry allows churches to care for vulnerable children and their families and provides a way to support foster and adoptive families.

More than 60 million evangelical Christians are participating in over 300,000 churches nationwide. This provides an incredible opportunity to engage in foster care and adoption. With its existing infrastructure and caring congregants, each local church and its community of believers can be the solution to the local foster care problem.

Requirements to become a foster parent

The DHS assists foster families with placement and ensures the child adjusts well to their new environment. Whether you have years of parenting experience or are relatively new to the idea, they have many support options for families. You can find plenty of information on the DHS/DFCS website or call them for more assistance.

Your local licensed child placement agency also places children in the foster system with carefully matched parents. Although foster care is temporary, it's crucial to find the right fit. That's why parents get a say in age range and gender.

There are also many state support groups for foster families that provide educational resources, services, and more. Connecting with these organizations and adding to your personal support network will be invaluable.

One of the best ways to become a better parent, whether you plan on fostering a child short-term or adopting, is to read as much as you can about Georgia's foster system. For instance, recently proposed bills would help to streamline parts of the state's foster care placement system.

You can find plenty of information available online for free as well. Blogs, podcasts, and videos are all incredibly useful ways to obtain new information about fostering.

After moving from NC, where we also fostered, Faithbridge provided our family with the support , professionalism and care that we needed to continue our mission. As we know the system is over worked and the turnover for workers is significant. Having a second group of people keeping their eyes on our case over the long haul was a blessing to us an especially the children. Faithbridge is doing their part to help with a broken system. We would highly recommend Faithbridge to any family considering joining the fostering mission!

I love my work at FaithBridge. I am thankful for the opportunity I have to support and walk alongside foster families and their foster children. Most of all, I love that I get to support my families by praying with them!

We fostered with Faith Bridges and I wouldn't recommended them. They make the families feel inadequate and worry more about making themselves look good with the state. Personally, I feel like they weren't honest and gave me such a bad experience that our family doesn't want to foster anymore. They make you feel guilty if you don't devote every minute to the foster child. I was upfront with them and told them I work full time and they wanted me to drive him to numerous appointments and leave work several times a week. I can't do that and maintain my job. They wouldn't help to get a transport and weren't supportive in helping with his behaviors. I wouldn't recommend this agency. They are definitely not for the foster families. It's a shame! I loved providing a home and the child made great progress! I will always love the child we fostered but I can't be beaten up several times a week by caseworkers who don't ever say encouraging words. Others who I have spoken with have similar experiences with Faith Bridges. Don't use them!

It is more than two (2) years that I trained to become a foster parent with Faithbridge. They still have not done my home study. I called several times to request a home study and am still waiting. I finally asked the worker to send my training hours so I can take it to another agency or to the state and become a foster parent. Faithbridge haS refused. There are hundreds of foster children looking for homes, but Faithbridge is so selfish that they are denying PROSPECTIVE foster parents the opportunity to take care of children because they do not have the capacity to conduct home studies and refuse to allow trained foster parents to go elsewhere. SHAMEFUL.
