FaithBridge Foster Care, Inc.
The largest Georgia-based, Christ-centered child-placing agency. We provide foster care & adoption services.
With roughly 1,600 children waiting for adoptive homes each year and more than 11,000 children in foster care in Georgia, we believe the answer to this crisis is the church.
We partner with local churches to help raise and license adoptive, foster, and respite families. A Christ-centered foster care and adoptive ministry allows churches to care for vulnerable children and their families and provides a way to support foster and adoptive families.
More than 60 million evangelical Christians are participating in over 300,000 churches nationwide. This provides an incredible opportunity to engage in foster care and adoption. With its existing infrastructure and caring congregants, each local church and its community of believers can be the solution to the local foster care problem.

Requirements to become a foster parent
The DHS assists foster families with placement and ensures the child adjusts well to their new environment. Whether you have years of parenting experience or are relatively new to the idea, they have many support options for families. You can find plenty of information on the DHS/DFCS website or call them for more assistance.
Your local licensed child placement agency also places children in the foster system with carefully matched parents. Although foster care is temporary, it's crucial to find the right fit. That's why parents get a say in age range and gender.
There are also many state support groups for foster families that provide educational resources, services, and more. Connecting with these organizations and adding to your personal support network will be invaluable.
One of the best ways to become a better parent, whether you plan on fostering a child short-term or adopting, is to read as much as you can about Georgia's foster system. For instance, recently proposed bills would help to streamline parts of the state's foster care placement system.
You can find plenty of information available online for free as well. Blogs, podcasts, and videos are all incredibly useful ways to obtain new information about fostering.

We had a very bad experience with FaithBridge. We had to ask for a placement to be removed and we were berated and made to feel guilty and got no support from them. One of the directors used Christianity and guilt as a weapon and made us feel terrible. It was disgusting! This was not what we signed up for and it was very sad. I will not be affiliated with a company like this!

We fostered with Faithbridge and had a great experience and support. The community of care model is an extra layer of support. We have stepped away from fostering for the moment, but will be with them again when we decide to open our house back up,

This organization has changed our families life! If you’re considering foster care and are a follower of Jesus, you NEED this organization in your life. DFCS is absolutely horrible to work with and the case workers are overwhelmed and don’t do their job the way they are supposed to. FaithBridge comes alongside DFCS and basically does their job for them. I never was able to reach my case worker, but my FaithBridge consultant was ALWAYS able to help and get anything done we needed and every question answered. They helped get our certification process expedited in order to get a specific teen out of the group home and into ours. I mean they went out of their way to take care of us and help us get approved as fast as possible. We wouldn’t be where we are because we eventually were then able to adopt our teen!! I can’t say enough good things about this organization and their heart to help kids in foster care get placed in the right homes with families who love Jesus. And the support they provide is just invaluable. They help with Christmas gifts, respite care, in person court hearings, financial care, adoption, the list goes on. I will sing their praises the rest of my life for the help they were in growing our family :)
