Catholic Charities Gainesville provides services designed to help preserve and protect the life of the child, provide care for women and their children, and to assist in the building of families through adoption.
For more than 46 years, Catholic Charities Gainesville has served the local communities of Alachua, Bradford, Dixie, Gilchrist, and Levy counties with charitable services. Our fundamental belief is that we have a responsibility to care for those in need by meeting basic human needs, restoring dignity, and assisting toward self-sufficiency.
By providing emergency financial assistance, food assistance, community outreach services, poverty reduction, and housing assistance, we are putting our beliefs into action to transform lives.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

I would NEVER recommend this place.
They denied my help , they are rude starting with Susan! This people need more training and more ethical training too. I come from Orlando and according the the other agency there supposed to help me. They even ask why I’m calling to ask for rent Assistente
Mmm I don’t know maybe cuss I’m súper rich and I have so much money that I can’t pay the rent. This people really need to update them self. Now I will return my apartment even tho not having the fun’s and this people don’t care and even I call and Lisa was been stupid on the phone. My HIV , my LGBTTQ + don’t come !!!! Don’t ever move to this county !!!!!

They told me they was going help me and my kids, I brought everything they needed in too my appointment, call a few days no call back, so I drove way too Gainesville and then they tell me, I was approved and my landlord should be receiving a check in the mailbox, then they call me back days before my rent too again and tell me they can't help me cause they help me 2021 a whole year ago, now I have double too pay and I am disabled and have a son disabled, thanks chacthic charity u just sign our eviction notice 😡
