Requirements to become a foster parent
Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Prove good health and ability to care for a child
- Maintain a stable income
- Pass a background screening
- Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
- Complete a Home Study
The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

I don’t know what type of games these people play but GOD does not play about his children. And for these people to be at a church playing with peoples lives is beyond sick. If you’re not going to help then don’t have people waiting. I’ve been trying to get help for TWO months since they only do rent assistance once a month only at 9 am. Last month I had just missed the time frame to call by two hours. So I’ve been waiting all month to call today. I called at 8:30 to see if I could call early and the phone was working fine. Then I called at 9 and it keeps getting the busy sound. So I email Sabrina off the website and she says we are accepting calls the line is busy just keep calling. I’ve called 50 times and gotten through three times and every time after the phone kept ringing they either forwarded me to her voicemail or they forwarded me to the emergency assistance voicemail that is full so the phone hangs up.then I finally get a hold of someone by the 60th call and he says they are out of rental assistance “sorry” at 9:57 after I’ve been trying to get through for an hour. This is a sick game very sick. I believe they are playing with people. Because when I got through and the phone was ringing that meant y’all had the choice to answer but chose not to. And sent my call to voicemail.

I was visiting for a company meeting, and after, was left with a lot of food and material that I needed to carry to my car - with no way to carry it. I requested assistance from the front desk and was quickly provided with a high-quality free reusable shopping bag that worked perfectly. Parking is the only dig I have against these wonderful and helpful folks. Otherwise, 👍.
