Hope and Home
An award-winning Colorado foster care agency providing training and support for families in Colorado Springs and across the state.Hope & Home started with a few concerned members of a church Sunday school group who saw foster kids being treated like second-class citizens, or worse, and decided to do something about it.
Today, we’ve turned foster care upside down and have emerged as one of the largest, most dynamic child placement agencies (CPAs) in the state of Colorado — with hundreds of children rescued from the foster care system and happily adopted. Each year we provide short- and long-term, in-family care to hundreds of children in crisis.
Along the way, we’ve created a program where children in foster care are nurtured and truly cared for, and where the foster parents who give these children a home can do so with a level of friendly, professional support not found anywhere else.
Our strength comes from our Christian commitment to children, from our large and highly invested community of donors and supporters, and from our pledge to only accept first-rate foster parents who believe, as we do, that no child should ever feel less than loved.

Requirements to become a foster parent
You must meet minimum requirements to provide foster care for children in Colorado. Foster parents for children and families must:
- Be 21 years of age or older
- Maintain sufficient income to support a family
- Have physical and mental capability to care for children and youth
- Pass a child abuse background and criminal background check
- Work with a treatment team and undergo future training
- Complete a Home Study
Prospective foster families can contact a Colorado child placement agency or your local Department of Human Services. Social workers in these child welfare agencies will provide information about Colorado's child welfare system, foster care, and the adoption process.
Social workers recommended that other adults and children in your home agree to provide long-term home care, too. If everyone is ready to welcome a new child, your local agency will help your home become an approved foster home.

Amazing organization with wonderful people! We feel supported and cared for in our foster care journey.

What makes Hope & Home stand out above the rest, for me, is their constant attention and support for the foster parents. No other agency in the Springs offers so much to foster family. From monthly support groups, to assigned mentor families, to a strong respite program (where you leave your fosters with other licensed foster parents for much needed breaks,) regular classes and conferences, family events and activities, to outstanding home supervisors who are there for any and all things you need, we haven't gone a day without the feeling that we are not doing this alone. The ongoing education and care is outstanding, and the focus given especially to new foster parents is unparalleled. If you want to be a successful foster family, go to Hope and Home, and nowhere else.

Hope and Home is unlike any other agency. Most of the time when you walk into any type of fostering agency it looks like another business or institution. Hope and Home has gone above and beyond to make sure that any child, bio-parent, foster parent, etc is walking into a warm friendly environment. The staff is truly amazing. They work very hard to help you in any situation that may arise and you come to think of them as friends rather than agency workers. They offer tons of support, training, really anything you need. You will find another form of support and friendship with the many wonderful families that are already apart of Hope and Home.
