An award-winning Colorado foster care agency providing training and support for families in Colorado Springs and across the state.Hope & Home started with a few concerned members of a church Sunday school group who saw foster kids being treated like second-class citizens, or worse, and decided to do something about it.

Today, we’ve turned foster care upside down and have emerged as one of the largest, most dynamic child placement agencies (CPAs) in the state of Colorado — with hundreds of children rescued from the foster care system and happily adopted. Each year we provide short- and long-term, in-family care to hundreds of children in crisis.
Along the way, we’ve created a program where children in foster care are nurtured and truly cared for, and where the foster parents who give these children a home can do so with a level of friendly, professional support not found anywhere else.
Our strength comes from our Christian commitment to children, from our large and highly invested community of donors and supporters, and from our pledge to only accept first-rate foster parents who believe, as we do, that no child should ever feel less than loved.

Requirements to become a foster parent

You must meet minimum requirements to provide foster care for children in Colorado. Foster parents for children and families must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Maintain sufficient income to support a family
  • Have physical and mental capability to care for children and youth
  • Pass a child abuse background and criminal background check
  • Work with a treatment team and undergo future training
  • Complete a Home Study

Prospective foster families can contact a Colorado child placement agency or your local Department of Human Services. Social workers in these child welfare agencies will provide information about Colorado's child welfare system, foster care, and the adoption process.

Social workers recommended that other adults and children in your home agree to provide long-term home care, too. If everyone is ready to welcome a new child, your local agency will help your home become an approved foster home.

This organization does a great job training, teaching and supporting its foster families. The families seek to provide kids placed in their care with safe and secure homes where they can heal, grow, and develop.

If you are looking for a foster care agency who prepares, guides and supports you throughout your foster care journey, Hope & Home is it. We are so thankful to be a part of such an amazing agency who helps make the ugly parts of foster care so much better. Everything about our experience from getting licensed to welcoming a new placement into our home is better because of this agency and the people who work for it. You want Hope & Home to want you. The End.

We’ve been with Hope & Home as foster parents in the Denver area for just over three years. During that time we have been supported, cared for and trained to be the best foster parents we can be by our agency. We’ve loved three little boys and their families, and joyfully watched as they have been reunited. Foster care is not for the faint of heart {I’m still surprised we lasted that first month}, but it is a incredible ministry opportunity, and Hope & Home is the best at helping foster parents succeed.
