Building Bridges Foster Family Agency is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization licensed by the state of California and facilitates foster care homes throughout Los Angeles County. We are a foster family agency providing services and treatment for abused and neglected children while reunification services with their families are being explored and/or completed. Building Bridges Foster Family Agence has been called one the elite foster family agencies in the Inland Empire and Los Angeles County

Requirements to become a foster parent
Many do not realize the need for new resource families in California. The number of foster kids outnumber the foster families who can provide short or long-term care. Foster advocates work hard to find places for these children, but it is not easy.
The latest 2021 report from the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) report in California says there are:
- 47,871 kids in California's foster care system
- 22,892 who entered foster care
- 15,386 foster kids awaiting adoption
- California foster kids across all ages, with a median of 8 years
- 33% whose foster child case plans include adoption
A child's median time in the California foster care system is over a year at 16.8 months. 13% spend 3-4 years in foster care.
California needs foster parents to take in multiple children if they have the time and energy to care for them. Sibling groups often need care, and it is essential to support these family bonds. In California, it is challenging to find homes for teenagers, though they need stable environments and reliable adults to support them.

Building Bridges Foster Family Agency has a lot of knowledge and guidance for fostering, and potentially adopting children. My favorite thing about Building Bridges is that all of their employees constantly support the resource families! I have worked with Kathya and Robert and their team continues to be knowledgeable and supportive! I think the fact that they are a smaller agency allows them to better serve and support the needs of their resource families. Highly recommend Buildig Bridges!

Our family was looking to be a blessing to to children that where in need of care. Building Bridges has placed great kids in our home. Katya and Marcelo made the process as easy as possible to become great resource parents. My husband and myself have been able to pour love into these children. This agency has been a big blessing and has change our life. Highly recommend this agency if your looking to become a resource parent.
