Requirements to become a foster parent
Utah families receive monthly foster care payments to help offset the costs of raising a child. This stipend is meant for room and board, clothing, and related expenses.
The amount you receive varies based on a child's age and needs. Children that require more attention and care have slightly higher rates.
Foster youth have their medical and dental needs covered through Medicaid. This insurance should be enough for any doctor's visits, therapy sessions, dental exams, etc. Foster children also qualify for free school lunches.
Utah parents can take advantage of mentorship programs that allow them to learn from more experienced foster families. It's an excellent way to connect with others and build a support network. Plus, you'll have someone else to turn to if you have questions.
Utah Kids Belong has an app that gives foster parents access to special discounts from foster-friendly businesses. It's also an easy way to connect with faith-based communities, which may offer other types of support.

We adopted our oldest daughter from here and there are honestly no words to say what a positive experience we had. From beginning to end of the adoption process, we had a caring representative who worked closely with us as well as the birth mother to ensure that everything was accurately represented, she was a very effective communicator, and she truly cared about us and the birth mother. We have adopted through other agencies and our experience paled in comparison to our experience at Children's Service Society. We are preparing to adopt again, and CSS is definitely our first choice as far as agencies are concerned.

I don't even know where to start with saying how great our experience was with css. From facilitating the meeting with our birth Mom, to being there (all night) while our birth Mom was in labor. I feel like they helped us all along the way and answered every question we had. Adoption is often times confusing and very emotional. They knew how to help us and the birth family through the process. Not only were they there all night with us but they were there early the next morning to continue guiding us through the process. So grateful for them to help us through everything!

As a10 year adoption professional, CSS is one of two agencies in Utah that I would recommend to hopeful adoptive couples, expectant parents, and adult adoptee's. I state this because I feel they are ethical with clean and straight forward practices. They are well rounded in the field of adoption and provide adoption services wherever it is needed in the community.
Another reason I love this agency is the Adoption Connection program they have. As an adult adoptee I love that they provide a place where adult adoptee's can go and have help finding their biological family.

Children's Service Society is the best organization I have had the privilege of working for. Each program offers support to families in many situations. Our adoption program is unbeatable!
Liesl, Allison, and part time staff do an incredible job to help birth mothers and adoptive parents feel comfortable, cared for, and important through the entire process. They are ethical in all their practices and strive to help everyone, without any judgment.
Celeste and her team of parent educators provide support for parents of young children, from birth to 5 years old. They are caring, compassionate, and passionate about their work. They go above and beyond as they work with families in their homes.
Bacall has moved the Grandfamilies program forward in extraordinary ways. She, along with her team of family advocates, have a strong desire to help grandparents and other relative caregivers navigate the legal system, keep the children in their care safe, and offer support along every step of the way.
Our Care about Childcare department is motivated and knowledgeable about the needs of children, their learning and growth, and working to help childcare providers provide safe and fun learning environments for all children. With a wonderful team of staff, anyone seeking childcare referrals, or looking to become a provider is sure to find the great service they're looking for.

Will never use this service again leisal the supervisor has no business being in a job like this she claims to care about children but she doesn't, children are a number to her. Her supervisor said she has no life experience and is very young. She has what I call a God complex and what she says goes. She also lied to us saying they we're the only company we could go through and charged us 1450 dollars for wasting our time. We are trying to adopt an older child and now because of these women's lies and unprofessional ways a child is now being denied a home.. I might add this child is 16 and wants to be with us and we wanted her but CSS said no even though we cleared all their expectations!!!! I would never recommend these loser people for any services! we are now going through dcfs and they don't charge anything!
