Requirements to become a foster parent
Adults who are new to the fostering process sometimes feel overwhelmed and wonder if they will have support on their journey. Your child-placing agency is the first resource. Social services caseworkers provide aspiring foster parents with various types of support and connections. These include free educational training programs, helplines, and support groups.
It is important that foster parents build their individual support network, too. Connecting with other foster families with more experience is an excellent place to begin. Texas groups offer foster parent meetups; you can search online for the closest one.
The Texas Foster Family Association provides state training, a regional directory of support services, a summer training conference, and more. Membership benefits include getting access to foster care professionals and learning more about ways to become better caregivers. Children of TFFA members can also get assistance through the Scholarship Fund.
Austin Angels is another support organization that strives to assist foster parents and Texas foster children. They offer care packages and gifts for foster children and their caregivers, mentorship options, and education, among other resources. Foster children and teens can learn valuable skills that help prepare them for independent living, as well.

My kids been here for more than 5 years they love it specially their teacher Miss Monica.. She treats them like their own kids... Miss Getta is also nice and friendly with me and the kids.. And Let me not forget Miss Maria she is really friendly and understanding and my kids brag about her cooking she is the best cooker at kathys.. All the teaches here have been here for a long time and they all care about each child they have weather they move on from class to class as they grow they allways show how much they care for their children

Im very happy on bringing my child to this day care i have not had a problem with him ever since he started he loves coming daily and loves all the staff very nice and friendly!! I highly recommend it.

My youngest is still at Kathy's. He will turn 4 in January of 2018, and has been going there since he was 6 weeks old. All of our kids have spent time at Kathy's, and honestly, the older ones miss it now. The women are wonderful. They get to know you and your children. A dedicated and loving group of women, who work with your children. It's a personable place, where your relationships with care providers are like dealing with old friends, and on a first name basis. My toddler loves getting ready in the morning, and going to "school", as he calls it. It will be a sad day when he moves on to Elementary School, and leaves this daycare. If you are looking for a warm, inviting, personable daycare, where you are treated like family, this is the place to be. My child's vocabulary and counting skills are already ahead of others his age, simply because they really work with them here. This is a gem of a place.

They are practically extended family at Kathy's Kiddie Corner!! My oldest daughter (now nearly 9) has been at Kathy's since she was two years old and is still there after school and during the summer! My youngest is now 4 and has been with Kathy's since she was 8 weeks old! It's never easy to leave your little ones so that you can have a career, but I never doubt that they are in great hands and socialization with kids their ages is so important!!
A few of the perks: There are always Spring and Fall portraits taken, a cute Christmas program for each age group (except schoolers), a preK class is available when your child is ready, and the summer program for school aged kids is super active and keeps them busy and entertained! This summer we gave my oldest daughter the option to stay with her grandma during the summer, but she refused to miss the Kathy's field trips!!
Great prices and a staff that cares and keeps you well informed about your child's learning and social activities!
Very long story short...my family and I highly recommend this place!!
