Requirements to become a foster parent
Adults who are new to the fostering process sometimes feel overwhelmed and wonder if they will have support on their journey. Your child-placing agency is the first resource. Social services caseworkers provide aspiring foster parents with various types of support and connections. These include free educational training programs, helplines, and support groups.
It is important that foster parents build their individual support network, too. Connecting with other foster families with more experience is an excellent place to begin. Texas groups offer foster parent meetups; you can search online for the closest one.
The Texas Foster Family Association provides state training, a regional directory of support services, a summer training conference, and more. Membership benefits include getting access to foster care professionals and learning more about ways to become better caregivers. Children of TFFA members can also get assistance through the Scholarship Fund.
Austin Angels is another support organization that strives to assist foster parents and Texas foster children. They offer care packages and gifts for foster children and their caregivers, mentorship options, and education, among other resources. Foster children and teens can learn valuable skills that help prepare them for independent living, as well.

Kathy's Kiddie Corner is a WONDERFUL daycare. My daughter went there and now both of my Grand Children go there. I rest assured that they are in good hands every day. The staff is loving, kind and gentle with the kids and the curriculum is fantastic!

I am so thankful for Kathy's Kiddie Corner. My kids love it there! We love Ms. Monica, Ms. Lulu and Ms.Shelly and think they are amazing!

My children have been attending this daycare for a few years now and we love it. The owner staff and teachers are so nice and down to earth.If we ever have a issue (my daughter who is 10 and starting to have her own attitude personality and who can take things to heart) we talk about it and fix the issue and dont feel uncomfortable afterwards. I love that everyone is like family and treats each other with respect and kindness even the little people ..they have voices too and I applaud them for tending to their individual needs and wants. Summer time field trips there go above and beyond on different locations and activities and the prices cant be beat even if I took my kids alone with me. So they get to enjoy a fun filled summer and i have no worries while they are gone knowing they are in good hands. The place is clean the food smells good and looks good. My kids are happy and that's what's most important to me and their safety. I read a review about someone answering and laughing at a possible enrollment I think maybe she got the the wrong Kathies Kiddie Corner or took it out of context because the ladies there are not like that. I have known them for three years had 3 different kids go to or still attending and my friends and their kids go to and never had a issue like that. I'm so sorry that you had that experience and I'm shocked you did. That's to bad because you are missing out on a great place for your twins. If possible try to come in person or try again it has to be a mistake.

My daughter has been going here for well over a year. My daughter has a speech delay and she’s intellectually delayed. They never make her feel any different than any of the other kids. I especially love the fact that during the summer, they take the kids literally everywhere. My daughter has been to way more places than I have in Houston. They are reliable, professionally and I dont worry about my daughter when she’s at Kathy’s.
