Adoption Advocates, Inc.
If you are facing an unplanned pregnancy, you are not alone. We are here to answer your questions and provide support while you explore making an adoption plan for your baby. And because we’re a local adoption agency in Austin, we can help you connect with trusted resources and potential adoptive families in our area.
Adoption Advocates’ Board of Directors established the Vision of Hope Fund to assist birth mothers in need. There are many requests for services and financial assistance we cannot meet under licensing standards. These requests can be met through donations to the Vision of Hope Fund.
During the past years, we have assisted birth mothers with the following: rent for a birth mother who lost her job, GED class expenses, college tuition and books, Christmas presents for birth mothers and their children, transportation costs to attend adoption finalization, and post-adoption counseling regardless of date of placement.
The Vision of Hope Fund allows us to make a difference in the life of a birth mother who not only needs our financial assistance but also our emotional support. Your support in helping us with the needs of our birth mothers is appreciated more than you can imagine. Nonprofit adoption agency providing safe, ethical adoption services in Texas since 1991, with offices in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Adults who are new to the fostering process sometimes feel overwhelmed and wonder if they will have support on their journey. Your child-placing agency is the first resource. Social services caseworkers provide aspiring foster parents with various types of support and connections. These include free educational training programs, helplines, and support groups.
It is important that foster parents build their individual support network, too. Connecting with other foster families with more experience is an excellent place to begin. Texas groups offer foster parent meetups; you can search online for the closest one.
The Texas Foster Family Association provides state training, a regional directory of support services, a summer training conference, and more. Membership benefits include getting access to foster care professionals and learning more about ways to become better caregivers. Children of TFFA members can also get assistance through the Scholarship Fund.
Austin Angels is another support organization that strives to assist foster parents and Texas foster children. They offer care packages and gifts for foster children and their caregivers, mentorship options, and education, among other resources. Foster children and teens can learn valuable skills that help prepare them for independent living, as well.

We had an amazing experience with Adoption Advocates when we adopted our daughter! We really loved the training seminar- it was so informative and helpful. It was also very important to us that the agency we chose showed a lot of respect and care for our daughters birth family. They absolutely made our daughters birth mom feel heard and comforted through a difficult time.
We are forever grateful to AAI for helping grow our family!

My wife and I adopted in 2005 in one of the quickest placements in AA history (2 days - and that record was beaten by another LGBT couple). For some reason we were unclear about the finalization and thought that the paperwork would only reflect one of us as parent. When we went to the courthouse for finalization and Jane Hall gave us our paperwork listing us both as parents we began to sweat. We thought no judge in Texas would ever let us adopt. However, Jane put us at ease and knew which judges to work with. We were elated. Now both of our girls are 17 and 15 (both adopted through AA) and we are blessed beyond words. For those of you who are worried - it's not a matter of "IF" it will happen - it's WHEN it will happen. Hope that brings you comfort.

When I first reached out to Adoption Advocates, I was nervous and uncertain. I had no idea what to expect as I began my adoption journey. All I knew was that my deepest longing was to become someone’s mama. Turns out, the team at Adoption Advocates made me feel safe and hopeful and *accompanied* every step of the way.
Even more important - they did the same for my baby’s birth mom.
A few months ago, when my son turned one, I asked his birth mom if she’d be okay with me inviting our Adoption Advocates social workers to his backyard birthday party. Her response? “Of course! They’re the ones who brought us together. I’d love to see them again.” It was a sweet reunion.
We will both forever be grateful.

My husband and I adopted our son through Adoption Advocates and we couldn’t be happier with how the process went from start to finish. As a same-sex couple it was extremely important to us to find a non-discriminatory agency and Adoption Advocates is that and so much more. It always felt like they genuinely cared about us and had everyone’s best interests at heart before their own. Their adoption seminar is so informative and helped us realize how many misconceptions we had about the process of adopting. Would highly recommend going to it if you’re considering adoption. We’ve met so many amazing people through Adoption Advocates and have formed awesome friendships with other families who have adopted through the agency. We will remain friends with everyone who works at Adoption Advocates because they truly are a great group of people.
