Adoption Advocates, Inc.
If you are facing an unplanned pregnancy, you are not alone. We are here to answer your questions and provide support while you explore making an adoption plan for your baby. And because we’re a local adoption agency in Austin, we can help you connect with trusted resources and potential adoptive families in our area.
Adoption Advocates’ Board of Directors established the Vision of Hope Fund to assist birth mothers in need. There are many requests for services and financial assistance we cannot meet under licensing standards. These requests can be met through donations to the Vision of Hope Fund.
During the past years, we have assisted birth mothers with the following: rent for a birth mother who lost her job, GED class expenses, college tuition and books, Christmas presents for birth mothers and their children, transportation costs to attend adoption finalization, and post-adoption counseling regardless of date of placement.
The Vision of Hope Fund allows us to make a difference in the life of a birth mother who not only needs our financial assistance but also our emotional support. Your support in helping us with the needs of our birth mothers is appreciated more than you can imagine. Nonprofit adoption agency providing safe, ethical adoption services in Texas since 1991, with offices in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Adults who are new to the fostering process sometimes feel overwhelmed and wonder if they will have support on their journey. Your child-placing agency is the first resource. Social services caseworkers provide aspiring foster parents with various types of support and connections. These include free educational training programs, helplines, and support groups.
It is important that foster parents build their individual support network, too. Connecting with other foster families with more experience is an excellent place to begin. Texas groups offer foster parent meetups; you can search online for the closest one.
The Texas Foster Family Association provides state training, a regional directory of support services, a summer training conference, and more. Membership benefits include getting access to foster care professionals and learning more about ways to become better caregivers. Children of TFFA members can also get assistance through the Scholarship Fund.
Austin Angels is another support organization that strives to assist foster parents and Texas foster children. They offer care packages and gifts for foster children and their caregivers, mentorship options, and education, among other resources. Foster children and teens can learn valuable skills that help prepare them for independent living, as well.

I approached Adoption Advocates around 4.5 months pregnant, heroin addicted, abandoned by the father, no car, homeless, absolutely hopeless and broken. I wanted my baby but not in the condition I was in and I saw no way out. I was UNABLE to find help. No one would help a heroin addicted pregnant woman because of the liability. I even art one point made it to a treatment center and they turned me away because on my condition. My whole family does not live in Texas plus because of my life style I had pushed all of them away and practically had no contact with them. On top of it I had just lost my father earlier that year. SO I decided to look into adoption because if I couldn't get my act together there was no way I could be a mother. I called Adoption Advocates and Kathryn took care of my transportation to come meet with her. They immediately got me into the doctor and helped me get into a hospital that eventually led to close to 3 months of drug treatment. Which led to being reunited with my family and the decision to keep my baby. From the beginning Kathryn expressed concern with where my mom/family was and wanted to help me reunite with them. Maybe they could help me with the baby. WHile I was in treatment I made the decision to keep my baby and let them know. With out Adoption Advocates I would not be sober today, I would not have my baby or be able to take care of him. Today we live right down the street from my mother, in our own apartment with our own transportation and medical support system that is amazing. My baby came out with a 100% perfect bill of health, no problems, no addictions. He is the most perfect soul I have ever met and I can't imagine life without him nor can i imagine ever being high again and not being able to be here for him. My baby and Adoption Advocates ( Kathryn I LOVE YOU & Rory ) helped me save my life. I am eternally grateful. Thank you.

We had an amazing experience adopting our son through Adoption Advocates. They helped us decide what was the best option for our family and guided us through various scenarios. Rory helped us create our adoption portfolio and counseled us through prospective birthmother calls and visits. They were supportive all the way through the process and even today we call Rory for advice. The overall experience we had with Adoption Advocates was so wonderful, we had them help us two years later with the adoption of our daughter! Christine and Craig

If you are looking for an adoption agency that is ethical, moral and truly cares about all parties involved in the adoption triad (birth parents, child, adoptive parents), this is the agency for you. My husband and I highly recommend Adoption Advocates (AAI). Our biggest requirement was making sure the birth parents are supported and taken care of through the process and post placement. We researched and interviewed several agencies before we chose AAI. Being in the adoption community and hearing stories of negative experiences with other agencies, I am so happy we chose AAI. We started our adoption journey in early 2016 and were matched and placed in May 2016. They have supported our son's birth parents and us in every way possible even years after placement. Rory and her team are so caring, listen and do an absolutely amazing job. Hands down if we adopt again we will definitely choose AAI.

My family is beyond grateful for Adoption Advocates. AAI has changed our lives and supported our new family every step of the way. They operate with compassion and transparency. Every person we've worked with has been patient, knowledgeable, empathetic, and professional. We can't recommend them highly enough!

We have AAI to thank for our two beautiful children. Though the experiences to adopt each of our kids was very different, the training and support AAI offered in both situations was top notch. What differentiates this agency from others is their deep concern for all members of the adoption triad - the adoptive parents, the child and the birth parents. They want the best situation for all involved. The true test is how they treat the birth families - there is no coercion or pressure for them to do anything they don't want to; the agency gently guides birth families to consider all aspects of their situation and identify the best course of action for them and their baby. Sometimes that is adoption, sometimes that is parenting, but the objective is to achieve the best outcome for all involved. We cannot picture life without our two kids.
