Requirements to become a foster parent
You'll still have support and guidance when you receive a foster placement. Kentucky has continued training and can connect new foster parents with experienced families through the Foster Parent Mentor Program.
Having access to an experienced foster family is invaluable. You'll be able to connect with other adults who have advice and can provide coaching to make your parenting journey easier.
Your local child-placing agency is one of your best sources of information and foster parenting services.
Nonprofit child welfare organizations approved by the state recruit resource parents, provide resources, and offer training and general support. When you attend the informational orientation and parent training, you'll receive books and resources that tell you more about the many available foster parent support groups.

I was here in 2006, 7th Meet Pride 💪🏼
We started and finished creekside leading up to the Cafeteria. Some of the hardest work I've ever done. Pushed us Mentally & Physically to our breaking points. Best experience of my life. Changed me forever for the better.

When I was young I was a very troubled, angered, misunderstood GAL who had lost all respect for all things & people. 17 years ago my actions resulted in being sent to RAMEY, I was in 2nd cottage in ZETA (MS. JACKSON) long story short I was taught to acknowledge & become aware of self, determine triggers, focus on realistic ways to handle issues more responsibly in order to create positive outcomes. Had to be completely torn apart, rid of anything that wasn't helping move forward. All the while you're learning things like Awareness of others, Empathy, Compassion, Understanding, Tolerance, Routines, Accomplishment, Hope, Confidence, Responsibility, PRIDE & so much more!! Lots of Mental & Physical effort required at times almost unbearable but the life changing affects were worth it!! I'm thankful for all my experiences at Ramey 2003-2004. I would say that overall staff were top notch to say the least!! I would love as an adult now to be an employee at REH to help todays youth!!

No cell phone or wifi service. Only given a chair to sit in to visit your child in a gym. no table, drink or food vending machine. Its like a prison for children.
