Lifetime Adoption, a domestic adoption agency assisting birth parents in their search to find loving adoptive families for their children. Lifetime Adoption is one of the top American Christian adoption agencies. It was founded in 1986 as an Adoption Support and Referral Group by Founder Mardie Caldwell, C.O.A.P., after her struggle with seven pregnancy losses and her own adoption and working with women in crisis. The mission was and still is to help adoptive families and birth parents come together. Lifetime’s specialty is assisting and supporting birth parents in their search to find qualified, loving adoptive families. As you’re considering adoption, this video can help you understand how open adoption works. The video shares the reality of open adoption from both the birth parent and adoptive family perspectives.Lifetime Adoption provides compassionate adoption help reflecting Christian values, builds families through modern open adoption and supports women as they consider their pregnancy options, navigating their personal adoption choices.

Requirements to become a foster parent

Many adults are eligible to become foster parents in their state but do not always realize it. Each state in the U.S. has regulations and requirements for licensing foster parents. Florida does not require parents to own a large home or quit their jobs and become stay-at-home parents. Florida foster parents must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older
  • Prove good health and ability to care for a child
  • Maintain a stable income
  • Pass a background screening
  • Finish 30 hours of foster parent training
  • Complete a Home Study

The required training course is free to aspiring foster parents. It helps parents learn how to foster children and become licensed to provide foster care in Florida.

They are in the business of price gouging and masking it as philanthropic. Their pricing structure is absolutely ridiculous.. And you still have to pay for your own layers and home visit.
The sad part is the Catholic church recommended this agency..go figure.

Incredible staff, and honestly you can really tell they care. I have been really lucky to work with Lori, and the entire staff has been incredibly warm and kind with me.

I have looked at the other reviews and I want to say that adopting is a very emotional roller coaster and ultimately if you have a good outcome you are pleased and if the outcome is less than stellar you are probably not happy.

We chose Lifetime after interviewing another agency and prayerful consideration because we felt that they are in it for the right reasons and care about birth mothers, children, and adoptive parents. As much as your adoption journey feels like it’s about you, it is really not. There is a mother who is in crisis and an innocent child who needs a loving home. Lifetime supports those mothers no matter what they decide (to us that was important). They also are looking out for the positive outcome for the child and their welfare. And they love adoptive parents, understand the struggles, and want to help them adopt. Ultimately though you have to think about the fact that it isn’t about you wanting a child and is about a child needing a home and you being able and willing to provide that.

We enjoyed working with Renatta - our first coordinator and were sad when she left. We then worked with another person who has since left as well. However, Christie (birth mother coordinator) was wonderful and very helpful and was the same consistent person from the time we matched until finalization.

We waited about 9-10 months from going active until being matched, though we understood it might take longer. And our total journey from infertility to adoption was years long. Lifetime provided assistance throughout the process with recommendations for preparation, education, home study providers and lawyers. Christie coordinated with social work at the hospital and communicated with our lawyers and birth parents. Things went very smoothly considering, but there were some bumps along the way due to specifics of our adoption. Lifetime was always responsive and helpful.

I think it was Katherine who helped us with our profile and video. She was also helpful and very responsive. All of the staff are very kind and caring. I think we just happened to be working with them during a transition. That did not appear to have an effect on us adopting or the speed at which it occurred. We are very grateful to Lifetime for their role in bringing our son to us and have recommended them to other families.

I agree with another review that states you get out what you put in - adoption is a difficult and seemingly unfair process at times. There are lots of hoops to jump through and the system is flawed, but though it was emotionally trying and stressful, we tried to be prayerful and look at it as an opportunity to prepare ourselves to be better parents when the time came. Because as difficult as adoption is, parenting is harder!!

Our adoption journey has not been simple or easy but we are so happy that we decided to adopt and feel that it has been more beautiful than we could have ever imagined! We love our son and his birth parents so much!

Fraud! Fraud! Fraud! Terrible company! I’m not sure how they have any good reviews since they have a very low adoption rate. Please be aware they also have different company names. Do your research! They make you sign a contract with a $20,000 deposit (which is non refundable after 72 hours).

They never call or reach out to you, unless asking for money of course. They state they are birth-parent driven which basically translates as “Adoptive parents get no support or encouragement.” Their way of supporting you is insisting you listen to “required” webinars which are not only repetitive and annoying, but are really just to buy time.

If you are not okay with gambling $40,000 (photo shoots, home studies, booklets, etc) please stay far, far away! Especially if you have any filters (ie baby girl/boy, ethnicity, etc). We are very blessed and grateful that we were able to expand our family due to our faith.

It is our duty to make sure other adoptive parents are aware of what they are signing up for. If I can save just one family then I have done my job.

We we’re with lifetime for 1 year.

You will pay them 20 thousand at minimum. After that they will only push self matching. They will not update you at all on whether or not your being shown or tell you how many times you were shown. If you update your profile you will not be shown during the 3 days it takes to update. Anyone who self matches they will claim as a successful lifetime adoption. They couldn’t even get our preferences correct after multiple emails. The only time they message you is to ask you to increase the amount your willing to spend on the adoption.

Do not go with a big agency like this they are only interested in your $. We went with a consultant and adopted within a month.

Message me for more info.
