Greater Hope Foundation
Foster care is when a child is placed in a temporary, safe home in a time of crisis. Adult caregivers, commonly known as Foster Parents or Resource Parents, then become part of the child’s support system, providing them with the necessities of life and healing programs designed to help them process the trauma they have endured. Resource Parents work with the child’s social workers, teachers, and doctors, to proactively nurture, love, and advocate for their needs until they are reunified with their birth family or are adopted.
A Greater Hope actively searches for and approves families that are committed to helping children and can care for and nurture them without hesitation. Families in these positions must be ready to work towards the greater good of the children placed in their care.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Many do not realize the need for new resource families in California. The number of foster kids outnumber the foster families who can provide short or long-term care. Foster advocates work hard to find places for these children, but it is not easy.
The latest 2021 report from the Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) report in California says there are:
- 47,871 kids in California's foster care system
- 22,892 who entered foster care
- 15,386 foster kids awaiting adoption
- California foster kids across all ages, with a median of 8 years
- 33% whose foster child case plans include adoption
A child's median time in the California foster care system is over a year at 16.8 months. 13% spend 3-4 years in foster care.
California needs foster parents to take in multiple children if they have the time and energy to care for them. Sibling groups often need care, and it is essential to support these family bonds. In California, it is challenging to find homes for teenagers, though they need stable environments and reliable adults to support them.

Exceptional communication by Jordyn & the Staff while providing a high level of subject matter in moving forward to an adoption. Jordyn was able to provide answers to my questions & make sure we would be substantially fit based on home requirements & a good fit as parents moving forward. I highly recommend A Greater Hope through a smooth & easy process with Foster Care or Adoption to those searching to make their family complete.

They are bad and rude in front of the children they say they help, they are not only rude to the biological parents so with the foster parents as well unprofessional and discriminating definitely need new staff or close the place parents have enough bad situations and this people think they better then other. So rude.

Communication with foster parents is non-exsistant, they don’t communicate well, nor return calls especially when it come to benefits for the children involved, leaving the fosters parents to fend for themselves and having to pay for things like medical care with zero to very minimal reimbursement. What an injustice to the children already in a bad situation. Shame on you.

In the beginning they seem like they are on you side and will help you but toward the end they say false allegations to the social worker and you call supervisor and they don’t return calls..
No communication …Will not recommend 👎👎👎
