A Angel Adoptions
“After working in the adoption field since 1985 as a clinical social worker, I finally realized my dream of opening my very own private adoption agency in 2001! My goal has always been to be a small, licensed Alabama adoption agency that provides personal guidance and counseling every step of the way! My focus has never been to grow and branch into other states. Working with Alabama women who choose an adoption plan will always be the number one focus of A Angel Adoptions.”
“I have always been very proud of the quality of adoptive families adopting through our agency. It is very important to me that adoptive families receive counseling services during and after the adoption, as well as education, training, and handholding throughout the process.”
A Angel Adoptions is a small, licensed, private agency right here in Alabama. No matter what city you live in, we can come to you.

Suzanne was so helpful in walking us through the adoption process, from education beforehand to support after placement. She truly cares about each child, birth mother and family.

We adopted our daughter through A Angel Adoptions in 2018 and we are so thankful the Lord led us to A Angel! They are simply amazing and have been there through every step of the way. They are truly loving, professional and would do anything to help expectant mothers and adoptive families. The love they demonstrate on a daily basis is nothing short of the love they truly have for adoption and helping others. We highly recommend A Angel Adoptions and know you will truly be blessed by them if you adopt through them or if you are considering placing your child for adoption. Suzanne will give you all the care and guidance through every step of the way and we are confident you will be just as thankful as we are that A Angel is a part of your adoption story forever!

My husband and I adopted our son through A Angel Adoptions in 2020, and we are so glad we chose this agency. Suzanne walked us with great care and professionalism through each step of the process, carefully explaining and encouraging along the way and always ready to answer our questions. The adoption process often comes with difficult moments of loss, and she was an empathetic and comforting presence in those moments. Thanks to the diligence and kindness of Suzanne and Susan, the home study process went smoothly and didn't drag out. The post-adoption experience has also been overwhelmingly positive. Our post-placement home visits were genial, with the sense that we were not just being evaluated but genuinely cared about. Six months later, Suzanne has facilitated a few visits between us and the baby's birth mother, and she offered a perfect blend of helping us get to know each other and making sure everyone was satisfied with the exchange of pictures & information so far. Throughout the entire process, communication with Suzanne and Emily (the administrative assistant) was prompt and clear.
A few things stand out as unique at A Angel Adoptions. One is the level of experience Suzanne and Susan have in the field of adoption. From counseling birth mothers to advising adopting parents to providing post-placement services, their combined decades of experience result in the highest level of knowledge, both about the human needs on all sides of the process and about navigating the necessary systems (healthcare, social services, legal, etc.) to get things done efficiently.
Another aspect I appreciate is Suzanne's obvious compassion for birth mothers. Of course she wants all babies who come into her orbit to find stable and loving permanent homes, but she also strives to make sure birth mothers' physical and emotional needs are met and that adopting families are able to empathize with the gravity, difficulty, and selflessness of a woman's decision to make an adoption plan. This was a great gift to us as well.
One more thing I'll mention that we appreciated was the amount of self-education the agency asks of adopting parents. There's a required reading list, and we found these books to be extremely helpful as we began the adoption process (and even still as we raise an adopted child). No matter how strongly you feel about wanting to adopt, there are essential things you need to think through first, and these books - as well as conversations with Suzanne - were useful in walking us through those considerations.
Adoption is life-changing for all parties involved - you can't afford to have a bad experience with the agency. We were in the best of hands at A Angel Adoptions and will absolutely return there when it's time to apply for a second adoption.
