Catholic Adoption Services of Washington
Our Mission
Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching and the Gospel imperative, Catholic Community Services and Catholic Housing Services are outreaches of the Catholic Church in Western Washington, under the leadership of the Archbishop of Seattle and the Boards of Trustees. CCS and CHS answer the Gospel call to loving and compassionate service with particular concern for the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death and the dignity of the human person. Our employees and volunteers come from many faith traditions to serve and support poor and vulnerable people through the provision of quality, integrated services and housing. Our focus is on those individuals, children, families, and communities struggling with poverty and the effects of intolerance and racism. We actively join with others to work for justice.

Requirements to become a foster parent
If you have questions or you're experiencing an emergency, contact your Child Welfare Office. If you're dealing with a medical emergency, contact 911 immediately.
The crisis support line for your local Child Welfare Office is available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is also after-hours support via the Contact Central Intake at 1-800-301-1868.
Washington residents can also access their regional mental health crisis line regardless of whether they have insurance. These helplines are open and staffed 24/7 all year round.
Washington foster families also have the Alliance Caregiver Retention, Education, and Support (CaRES) program. New parents can learn from CaRES mentors. Alliance CaRES partners with the Department of Children, Youth & Families to provide resources and assistance to foster and kinship families across the state.
Foster parents can also access discounts across Washington, such as state parks, zoos, etc. You can find more information about these free programs and discounts on the CaRES website.
Online tools, such as foster parent portals, help make fostering easier and streamline the application process.

Continually had to pull teeth to get help, when trying to fill out the necessary paperwork to be able to sustain help while in the pandemic and trying to get a job, they want tk play games with people who are actually trying to get off their feet. No matter how hard you try to contact them they make you feel ignored. They tell you they are in a meeting and then they don't get back to you for another few days and it is only through text, I don't get a phone call anymore. I would just like to talk to someone to get it fixed. I don't even get social security to be able to pay the over 500 dollars and I'm working on it with the any disabilities I have.
