Foster’s Home accepts public and private placement of children at Levels of Care: Basic, Moderate, and some Specialized. We are a nonprofit agency providing residential group care and foster care. We are supported by Churches of Christ and interested individuals. We offer services to children from throughout Texas. Children are accepted through private placements, Juvenile Probation departments, and Children’s Protective Services. Children in placement at Foster’s Home are raised in a family home setting, living and learning through The Sanctuary Model®.  They attend weekly church services, are involved in the Erath County 4-H program, and attend Stephenville Independent School District.

Foster’s Home for Children provides a tutoring program called Achievers for each of our youth. Each student comes for tutorials for one hour on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. This program offers certified teachers to help the youth with their homework and help them learn any concepts they may have missed during their previous school years.  At Achievers, the high school youth work on their “My Future” book.  This involves looking at job opportunities, technical schools, colleges, and universities they may be interested in attending.  They investigate the cost, the admission requirements, the degrees offered, housing, etc.  The Achievers mission statement is:  As teachers of the Achievers’ Program, our mission is to create a non-violent environment that encourages students to work to their highest capacity, do required schoolwork thoroughly and timely, and explore new avenues of knowledge and skill while feeling safe in the classroom at all times.

Requirements to become a foster parent

Adults who are new to the fostering process sometimes feel overwhelmed and wonder if they will have support on their journey. Your child-placing agency is the first resource. Social services caseworkers provide aspiring foster parents with various types of support and connections. These include free educational training programs, helplines, and support groups.

It is important that foster parents build their individual support network, too. Connecting with other foster families with more experience is an excellent place to begin. Texas groups offer foster parent meetups; you can search online for the closest one.

The Texas Foster Family Association provides state training, a regional directory of support services, a summer training conference, and more. Membership benefits include getting access to foster care professionals and learning more about ways to become better caregivers. Children of TFFA members can also get assistance through the Scholarship Fund.

Austin Angels is another support organization that strives to assist foster parents and Texas foster children. They offer care packages and gifts for foster children and their caregivers, mentorship options, and education, among other resources. Foster children and teens can learn valuable skills that help prepare them for independent living, as well.

My heart always lives here and has since 1970. We brought two girls from Van Horn Texas they were completing Homes 2 and 3. We had to take the girls to Boles Home for all the paper work . They have been apart of me since.

Warm loving atmosphere. I am finishing the construction of a splash pad / water park for the kids at this facility and can verify that the kids are well taken care of.

A non profit organization working Miracles with many kids from around the DFW area and then some. I’ve lived here for around two years and they’re helping me get into college and providing me with after care housing. This place is certainly a good one.
