Little Flower Adoptions is a Texas-licensed child placing agency: Adoption Home Study Services, Adoptive Parent Preparation/Education, Post-Placement Services, Identified Adoptions, and Birth Parent Services.Little Flower Adoptions is owned by Kris Miller, M.Ed, LPC. She has been the Executive Director and Licensed Child-Placing Administrator since the inception of the agency.

Little Flower Adoptions has been a licensed adoption agency since 2001. We have assisted hundreds of birth mothers with making an adoption plan for their babies and hundreds of adoptive parents with building their families through adoption.
We work a little differently than most adoption agencies. While traditional adoption agencies specialize in matching birth parents with prospective adoptive parents, Little Flower Adoptions primarily works pre-matched cases. So, if you are a prospective adoptive parent working with a Texas birth mother, we are your agency. We will ensure your case meets all licensing standards and legal requirements. We will also ensure that you, whether you are a birth mother or adopting parent, are supported and guided through this process and that the case is in the best interest of the baby.

Requirements to become a foster parent

Adults who are new to the fostering process sometimes feel overwhelmed and wonder if they will have support on their journey. Your child-placing agency is the first resource. Social services caseworkers provide aspiring foster parents with various types of support and connections. These include free educational training programs, helplines, and support groups.

It is important that foster parents build their individual support network, too. Connecting with other foster families with more experience is an excellent place to begin. Texas groups offer foster parent meetups; you can search online for the closest one.

The Texas Foster Family Association provides state training, a regional directory of support services, a summer training conference, and more. Membership benefits include getting access to foster care professionals and learning more about ways to become better caregivers. Children of TFFA members can also get assistance through the Scholarship Fund.

Austin Angels is another support organization that strives to assist foster parents and Texas foster children. They offer care packages and gifts for foster children and their caregivers, mentorship options, and education, among other resources. Foster children and teens can learn valuable skills that help prepare them for independent living, as well.

They are horrible. The case worker was completely biased and had a personal grudge. I wouldn’t adopt a dog from them. Spoke to the manager and she didn’t even want to talk to us. Needless to say we left. We have since adopted 3 beautiful babies in the past 3 years. Don’t give them the time of day. Spend your money elsewhere. I wouldn’t even give them 1 star. Need to close their doors.

My husband and I recently adopted our little girl and for those that know how stressful the journey can be, the team at Little Flower made this process seamless. In the midst of COVID-19, the team was always two steps ahead to make sure we had everything we needed. Their attention to detail, honesty, and genuine care of both the birth mom and us was so rewarding! Thank you to the team of Little Flower!!!

We were thrown a curve ball at the last minute by the agency that matched us with our birth mother (NOT Little Flower) and when that agency passed our information along to Little Flower, we had very little time to get everything in order to allow us to adopt our son. Kris Miller and Audrey Thatcher worked round the clock and on weekends, were polite, professional and compassionate, and helped grant our wish of adopting a baby. Without their help, persistence, and willingness to work outside of their comfort zone, we would have given up. We would definitely work with Little Flower again in the future!
