Catholic Charities
In 1912, the groundwork for Catholic Charities was laid with the founding of St. Joseph’s Orphanage. In the following years, other institutions were opened to serve children, families, and other people in need. Among these were a boardinghouse for young working women, a maternity home, and St. Ann’s Home for the Elderly.
In 1927, Catholic Charities expanded its services to include adoption, foster care, and pregnancy counseling. Its mission was to make Christ’s love for all human beings a visible and living reality for those in need.
Are you considering adoption as a way to start a family? Catholic Charities is a licensed child-placing agency serving the state of Oklahoma. Children placed for adoption are infants placed in our custody by birth parents who have made an adoption plan for their baby. We provide our adoption services regardless of ethnicity or religious preference.

Requirements to become a foster parent
The Oklahoma Department of Human Services (OKDHS) provides foster care support, such as connecting parents to hotlines and listing information about the licensure process. Besides the State Department of Human Resources, many private agencies in Oklahoma are dedicated to helping foster children and the parents that care for them.
The Oklahoma Family Network (OFN) helps children with special healthcare needs. OFN can connect parents with appropriate resources and training. Their Resource Directory lists organizations and professionals by topics, such as food assistance or disability services, so you can easily find help in your area.
The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) is part of the Children’s Health Act. You can learn more about child trauma and trauma-informed care. There are also informational materials and training available through the NCTSN.
Additionally, private adoption agencies offer programs and support for any parent interested in fostering to adopt.

Catholic Charities is an awesome agency in OKC, serving central and western Oklahoma! Their programs are aimed at long term recovery and self sufficiency. They do not just serve Catholics. They exist to serve the community out of catholic social teaching. Wonderful place!

You have to go through hell to get a deposit paid. This place is very Third Sector...systematic exploitation. Very Catholic indeed..self-interest masked as simply following procedures. False and unethical success metrics on their website. Some things are often pushed along to get a false stat..very Boolean but they know how to navigate around it to tidy it up nice ! They prefer to help only Catholics(mainly Hispanic). And a majority of their projections and stats are drawn from that. Catholic is just a thinly veiled guise under the cloak of "social entrepreneur's" whom profit all in the name of "charity for the poor & unfortunate". Profiteering in the name of the poor ! Poverty pimps who missuse & misappropriate donations as well as, grants. Their counseling is also a sham. I signed up for free sessions..only recieved two b/c Amy the counsellor kept cancelling on me. And never returned my calls. And not once called to reschedule me. I was not worth the time..too poor. But you know they billed on my behalf for all of it ! Sneaky fraud much ? Very much the antithesis of compassion...I was treated so very poorly by this organization. But I guess...what did I expect its Catholic & "a charity". I was at a complete disadvantage...and they love nothing more to kick you down if it suits them. Very cruel & greedy organization indeed !👎😱👿🔥💩💔💦 p.s. I would not even be surprised if they run one the largest Medicaid as well as, Medicare frauds in the nation.
