Choosing Hope Adoptions
Choosing Hope Adoptions is a full-service, non-profit adoption agency licensed in the state of Ohio. We have office locations in Dayton, Cincinnati, and Springfield, but we serve the entire state of Ohio and will travel throughout the state to meet birth mothers and prospective adoptive families.
We offer no-cost, confidential support to pregnant women who need information and advice when deciding whether to choose adoption, abortion, or parenting their child. For women who choose one of our carefully screened families for adoption, we help with prenatal care, legal services pertaining to the adoption, and financial assistance for medical and living expenses.
Since we are a non-profit organization, we hold fundraisers to help cover our administrative costs and keep adoption fees as low as possible for our adoptive families.

Requirements to become a foster parent
After deciding to foster, make sure your household members are on board with what will be a life-changing decision to foster. Then, educate yourself about Ohio's requirements for foster parents. Applicants who want to foster or adopt in Ohio must:
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Live in a safe and stable home
- Meet home safety requirements
- Clear a background check with fingerprinting
- Provide at least three character references
- Provide ample space for a foster child in their house or apartment
- Attend foster parent orientation
- Take part in required hours of foster parent training
- Maintain financially stability
- Prove good health
- Complete the Home Study process
To apply or ensure you meet the prerequisites, there are two primary Ohio state resources. Contact the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) or a local Public Children's Service Agency (PCSAs).
If you are ready to learn more, contact a local child-placing agency to schedule foster parent information orientation. At orientation, aspiring foster parents learn more about foster parenting responsibilities, navigating the foster system, and the foster application process. If you have questions, orientation is an excellent opportunity to ask questions and meet other potential foster families.
Administrative paperwork can take some time to complete, but having everything prepared will ensure it goes smoothly. It will help the process move along if you gather financial documents ahead of time. These include tax filings and paystubs, which you will need to show as proof of financial stability.
Foster parents in Ohio must also attend 24 hours of pre-service foster parent training. This training teaches foster families about the trauma experienced by all foster children. It also covers how to provide general and specialized care to foster children.

I love working with Choosing Hope! I am the director of a national adoption program, and when I need a placing agency in Ohio, they are the only agency I contact. I have had a fantastic working relationship with CH since they've been open. They have walked with countless birth families, providing compassion, love, support. At the same time, they are assisting the adoptive families, providing the same excellent care, and being such a strong, wonderful part of the adoption triad. I can't recommend this agency enough!

After working with more than one adoption agency, Choosing Hope is a diamond in the rough. With the utmost respect, they stepped in to the life of our son's biological family to help find a safe plan for him. They took time at all hours of the day to provide our son's birthmother with counsel, support and most importantly love. They supported our family and provided all that we needed and more even after placement. When we had questions, they were there to answer them and continue to provide prayers and support three years later. Working with Choosing Hope becomes like working with family who is also on the side of the adopted child for a lifetime. This is a loving transparent environment for adoptive families, biological families and adopted children.

We loved working with Choosing Hope and how God used them to help build our family. We chose them because of their devotion to sharing Christ’s love with everyone they meet. They had wonderful communication throughout the whole process, and the education part of the home study helped prepare us for adoption.
They have on going counseling for birth moms post placement and encourage openness in adoption.
We also had the pleasure of meeting other adoptive families and are building a community through our connections at Choosing Hope.
We are very grateful that it is one of the most affordable adoption agency in Ohio - and this is because of all the costs they try to fund raise as well as the many people who volunteer their time to run the agency.
I highly recommend this agency to anyone pursuing adoption!

Choosing Hope is not only an advocate for the adopted family, but also the adoptee and birth parents. They truly encompass the purpose of the adoption triad. We are blessed to have served them and be served by them. So grateful for our little boy!

This agency has an amazing heart for Adoption, and will help you walk out, not only the process, but the emotional process it requires to adopt! Wonderful people, forever grateful!
