Bethany Christian Services
Being a foster parent is so much more than loving a child in your home. It’s also showing kindness to a family when they need it most.
It’s giving a child a safe place to land during a hard, scary time when they’re away from home. And it’s showing compassion to a parent who is likely overwhelmed, scared, and without a lot of support.
It’s helping a child stay connected to the only home they’ve ever known, in whatever way it’s safe to do so, and cheering on a family that’s living out a comeback story.
At Bethany, our heart beats for family. We want to see families strong, supported, and together. But we know there are times when families face challenges—and children need care.
That’s why we’re seeking foster parents who believe in families too.

Requirements to become a foster parent
There are many services on hand to support those who foster children in Mississippi. Let's take a look at what's available for caregivers:
Support Payments
In Mississippi, foster parents receive a daily board payment from the Division of Family and Children's Services (DFCS) to help pay for the foster child's board, clothing, and personal allowances. These payments vary and can be between $22.83 and $51.55, depending on the child's age, situation, and needs.
Foster children who have special needs that are not covered by their board payment or monthly allowance can receive up to $100 per month, as necessary. However, this is not a guaranteed monthly allowance and is only provided on a case-by-case basis.
Medical and Dental Coverage
Many children in foster care qualify for medical and dental Medicaid coverage.
The foster parents have the obligation to arrange and accompany the child to all medical and dental appointments. This ensures their overall health and wellness.
Training and Support Groups
Foster parents have access to extra training and support groups. These resources give a platform to foster parents and allow them to interact with others who have experience with the distinctive challenges fostering can pose.

Prices are high. Folks in there dont know much. I was told there are 2x4 studs and there were none (they did not know what that meant) They seem to put a teenage girl in the lumber department that #1 doesn't have a clue and #2 is more focused on whatever she watches on her phone. Been in this store 3 times. There will not be a 4th.

Quick in and out. Super helpful and attentive staff. Amazing selection (especially with specialty and individual bolts and nuts) would definitely recommend them over Lowe's and home Depot!
