Adoption Support Center, Inc.
Helping an expectant mom with an unintended pregnancy is a delicate and vulnerable process. Emotions are high, and no one wants to say anything that would make her feel ashamed or judged. What’s most important is to broach the subject of options in a way where she feels safe and fully supported.
ASC is a licensed child placement agency in the state of Indiana.
We offer lifelong support for expectant moms, birth moms, and adoptive parents — before, during, and after placement. We help all parties set boundaries, build their relationship, and work through the grief that accompanies placement. We look forward to talking with you.

Requirements to become a foster parent
Foster parents in Indiana have access to a variety of services and support. These services include:
Support Payments
As a foster parent, you will receive a daily payment from DCS to help cover the costs of caring for a foster child. The amount varies depending on the age and needs of the child, but payments start at $18.88/day.
Foster parents are also eligible for an initial clothing expense payment of up to $200.00 and an Annual Personal Allowance of up to $300.00 per child per year. This payment becomes available when the child has been in placement for at least eight days.
Additionally, DCS provides a Special Occasion Allowance of up to $50.00 on
child’s birthday and during the December holidays.
Medical and Dental Coverage
In Indiana, children in foster care are entitled to receive Medicaid coverage for their medical and dental needs.
However, it is the responsibility of the foster parents to schedule and attend all medical and dental appointments for the child. This means that foster parents must make sure that the child receives proper medical care and attends all necessary appointments to maintain their health and well-being.
Training and Support Groups
Foster parents have access to ongoing training and support groups to help them navigate the challenges of fostering. Support groups provide a space for foster parents to connect with others who understand the unique challenges of fostering.
Indiana Foster Care Statistics and Outcomes
Understanding the statistics and outcomes of foster care in Indiana can help you better understand the need for foster parents in the state.
As of 2021, there were over 13,000 children in foster care in Indiana. However, there are only 6,200 licensed foster parents. Most children in Indiana foster care are between ages 8 and 16. On average, they stayed an average of 14.3 months in foster care.
Sadly, children who exit foster care have a higher likelihood of experiencing homelessness, unemployment, and incarceration than their peers who did not experience foster care.
As a foster parent, you can help break this cycle. You could inspire troubled child to excel and reach their true potential.

Putting our trust in this agency has been one of the greatest decisions we have made! The staff was supportive and easy to communicate with from day one. Everyone at the agency is involved in your case and does everything possible to ensure your success. They helped us find our little boy in record time, and we could not be happier! Their focus on the birth mother's well being is also excellent, which was also very important to us. We recommend them in a heartbeat, not just to adoptive parents, but birth mothers too.

We went active with ASC in Feb 2016 and got our first matched call May 2016. From the very first call to the signing of the papers or beautiful baby girl, ASC has been amazing! They are always quick to respond and very wonderful and patient at explaining things! You can tell that every single employer at ASC loves their job and let's be real, dealing with birth mom's who are getting ready to experience one of the hardest days of their lives and adoptive parents who are anxiously awaiting the best of their lives, can't be easy! Keep up the wonderful work ASC! We will hopefully be back soon for our second adoption!

My husband and I learned of the Adoption Support Center through friends whom had a great experience with the agency. Right away we encountered their caring and professional, yet down to earth manner. We appreciated their genuine concern for each birth mom and her unborn child, and their ability to work so closely with these women providing ongoing emotional support and attending to their financial needs as well, throughout their pregnancy and the months following. We were struck by the friendship that was formed by our coordinator and our birth mom which made us feel more at ease and comfortable. ASC stands out not just for the support they provided to us but the care and concern they have for each birth mother in her unique circumstance. ASC is a beautiful group of women who work closely with expecting birth moms and couples wanting to make a better life for their unborn child. For this reason we were introduced to our daughter's birth mom and grew to love her and appreciate her courageous decision to place her child with us. We feel the agency was instrumental in creating a trusting experience for our birth mom as well as us. Every adoption journey is unique and can be a series of ups and downs, much like a roller coaster ride. We had our own ups and downs on our journey, but during the difficult times our ASC coordinator was there to guide us and help us maybe see things from the birth mothers point of view and vice versa. We are forever grateful for the loving gift of our daughter's birth mother and in her own words " the best decision I've made in my life" . It is comforting to know that ASC is still here for us nearly two years after our daughter's birth. Thanks to ASC's guidance, wisdom and experience we are happy to be adopting again!

I was 20 years old working minimum wage, living with family, while trying my best to take care of my two toddlers. I had found out I was pregnant again, so many emotions ran through me. What can I do!? Adoption keep running through my head but the father changed my mind. A few more months down the road I decided that adoption was the best option. I googled, read reviews for days. The Adoption Support Center was it!! They helped answer all my questions and made me feel at peace with my decision. I met the family that my little man would be living his life with and they were perfect. So much love for not only the baby, but also for me and my other two children. I grew closer and closer to everyone involved with helping me with my decision and placement. So much support and love, and even after placing a beautiful baby boy nothing has changed, I still receive the same if not more love and support for all people involved. It's almost been a week now, my emotions are crazy, I think about him every day, but the journey has just began and I can't wait to see what's instore!!

The ladies at the Adoption Support Center are the best at what they do. We highly recommend them to anyone placing a baby or looking to adopt.
